My recovery week has been so-so...with things getting so busy with CC and travel, I'm off kilter both with eating AND exercise.  I'm planning to get in a good run tomorrow, one last power balance workout and then hitting it hard with Max on Monday!  Let's gooooo!

Ok, so I forgot how hard the Max workouts are.  The warmups are easier, but that's because the rest of the darn workout sucks!  Sucks in a good way though, if you know what I mean.  This is going to be a loooooong month!  :-)

You guys are doing great!  I had a really bad week, between work going crazy and travelling I didn't get many workouts in.  I am going to do week 3 over again this week.

Keep up the hard work!

I love that my abs are always "worked" during every insanity (though I'll admit i have never done their recovery dvds yet) I'll say that the full body drills are the hardest on me, especially the one where he has you do the plank punches right after the full body drill, that KILLLL S me, and I love it! hahaha.  I would really love to do insanity in a big gym like where they film it.  Right now I've done it in my living room, in maybe a 7x7 area Sealed a lil cramped especially when the dog and the  baby are moving about haha.  There is one move too that I had to go out onto the porch to do, I landed hard enough to knock things off the bookshelves lol.

5 mile run + Max Recovery.  I did fast forward somewhat. My legs are tired today!  All the squat pulses were killin' me!

I put on a pair of pants yesterday that I haven't worn in over a week and was pleasantly surprised to find them super loose--not just in the waist but everywhere!  Almost too big to wear.  Sweet!

Max recovery? Should I be worried?

I am getting used to pile driving my way through the workouts, week one of Max stuff almost complete. I never thought I could keep up with the workouts when I used to see the infomercials, now Im close to finishing, its a great feeling. It does take your mental game to a new level, for me its all about giving more than I have even if its sloppy. Last night I know I sweat more than any other workout, and it was a recovery workout. I already know I will miss these workouts, I dont plan on doing another round until this time next year, if I do it during my race season it will surely lead to overtraining. I do have the Insanity Bonus workouts so Ill be revisiting them to see if maybe I can fit those in somehow, like the weighted workout and the Insanity abs workout.

Happy Monday my Insanity buddies!

Wasn't sure how Max Conditioning would go this morning after an 11 mile run yesterday...it went surprisingly well.  It seems I'm finally making that mind/body connection and learning how to push, push, push.  I really think this program has made my entire body so much stronger than it ever has been before.  It feels great!

On Friday & Saturday nights our school has activity evening from 8pm-10pm and they are always looking for volunteers to do stuff with the kids.  Now that cross country is over I think I might offer the athletes a conditioning room--clear the desks out of my classroom and take them through Insanity workouts.  We have school off on Thursday so I'm taking the wrestlers (most of my CC runners are going right into wrestling) through a Max workout at 9am!  We'll see if they can keep up with me! Smile

I had my last race of the season on Saturday! I kicked some PR butt, and also came in 1st in women and my age group.  It was a really small race but the bike ride was one of the most difficult i have ever done, I found a new training route!

This morning, day one insanity! I am excited to take this all the way through!

Ok, did the Fit Test yesterday, and Day 1 Today with the wife.

We had to laugh at ourselves a few times trying to learn the moves. Kids thought we were a riot.

Even the warmups were hard! I am quite sore today, hamstrings especially. Had to take a few breaks on the circuit workout today and got to the point where my arms turned to noodles. What a challenge, though. I actually am far more sore than I was after running a full marathon.

I like the pace and energy of the DVD's. I'm not one to typically get into a dvd workout usually, but this one isn't bad.

It took me about a week before I could get all the way through the warmups!  The Max warmups aren't as hard, but that's because the workouts are so much harder!

i've always considered my legs to be my strongest asset, i just have a lot of strength in them even when i'm not active, but when i started insanity i duscovered muscles i never knew i had lol. The first ten times i was extremely sore in a different place every time, make sure you have a recovery drink (for me whey protein shake) after the workouts and adjust your calorie intake accordingly. Day 2 for me, i haven't done this dvd in a while so i forgot about those power jumps yikes, not quite as disturbing as they use to be. Has anyone else logged into wowy? I did a 3 mile run , we'll see how today goes. englishteacher! Getting the kids involved sounds awesome!

Day 4 today - did the cardio recovery. Feeling a little better today. Yesterday after Day 3 I walked around like an invalid. Youch. Hamstrings, glutes not happy! I totally maxed out yesterday on pushups, got to where I simply could not do another, couldn't even hold a plank position after the 3rd round.

I liked the recovery workout - it would be a good post-race routine. I need to improve my balance, esp on the yoga positions.

Now, if only the halloween candy would disappear!
