Heh. I tried for the F3P, not quite an hour, but then again ... I was on a bike for the first time in 6 weeks, and it's my parents' very old PLASTIC (I kid you not, even the seat) stationary bike.

How does a pair of running shoes disappear?  Of course they are the good ones with my orthotics and nobody touched them.  This is my idea of Total Drama Island.

This happened to me on a Nearly-Deserted Island. I mean, where were they going to go?!?

I was pretty pizzed, since you can't buy decent running shoes here, nor inserts (much less custom orthotics), and they were a few weeks old.

The Manatee team table does, by the way, work (as do all the links). I'm shocked. Here it is again. If copying from here and pasting into your blog doesn't work, you might try copying it directly from my blog and pasting it into yours.

I ated and dranked about 12,000 calories in the last 24 hours.  Now I feel like this.

I know what you mean. I weighed myself a few minutes ago and am 7 lbs up since yesterday afternoon.

This picture was actually the Manatees' logo for a long time. A couple years now at least, I think. But I think it's really cute! Does that make you guys feel any better?

My sister said to me tonight, "You know, you don't actually have to eat everything you see." But I do! It's Christmas!

Strangely enough, I look slimmer over the last few days and who knows, I might even have lost a few pounds. I think it's because I'm getting enough sleep, which isn't usually the case. And there is definitely something about being sleep-short that screws with your metabolism.

mackjenn - 2010-12-25 7:27 PM Hey Manatee's:  My Holiday Gift to you is a F3P, or a Family Friend Free Pass.

Basically- any calories you consume with family and friends today (Christmas) do NOT count toward any weight gain - basically, they are free.  Only one condition.  To activate the F3P, you just have to work out a minimum of 1 hour tomorrow.  EASY AS THE PIE YOU HAD TODAY!!!

Hope you enjoy and perhaps get that hour in early.

F3P applies for new year's too; however, It is more difficult to activate / use (kind of like frequent flyer miles).  To use, you must iniitate the workout within 1 hour of sun-up.  :-)

Happy Holidays!

I LOVE this gift!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!

Thank you!  I was able to copy the list, so I'm happy with that  I'm on a roll! Purchased the silver membership today and picked a training plan.  I'm going to start January 3 on a 12 week sprint plan.  By the end of that plan I hope I'll feel more prepared to take on an Olympic plan!

I think you're smart to think ahead about an oly plan. After my first sprint I needed something to follow afterwards. When you get to that point you may want to look into a "bridge" plan that takes you from a sprint to an oly.  Just a thought.

It's pretty amazing what you can accomplish in 12 weeks if you set your mind to it.

saddles are *such* an individual thing

Is there a bike store near you with a liberal return policy and/or test saddles?

My local bike shop only carries fiziks in stock. I just got a used bike (most things I pick up are used) with a specialized BG saddle. Ironicly, I just sold the same saddle off my MTB becasue I removed it years ago for something better. I don't know too much about road and tri saddles. Profile designs has one I like, but I was wonderingif there maybe something more intermediate first. As fasr as comfort goes I am one of the most easy to please people ever.

I'm looking too and I keep hearing Cobb cycling - mail order (not carbon, but tripple digit).  They have a great return policy (180 days) and apparently it is not used much.  I don't recommend mine as they are all mid-90's technology and weight savings was the primary consideration.  WAAAYY before they started with seats that have cut-outs.

This happened to me this summer while riding my mountain bike - about halfway through a 25 mile out and back ride (well - it was halfway since I had to turn around and come back w/o a seat).  Did a jump and came down kind of hard - seat broke in half (I have a hard tail and a bike without rear suspension).  Felt like I was riding a "trials" bike.

I know the feeling. I broke a rail on a MTB saddle on a 12 foot drop. I took the seat off because it was flopping around. I had to ride back trying to remember not to sit down. I forgot a few times and it wasn't pleasant.

sweet! i'm one of those annoying people whose anatomy doesn't seem to like anything--saddles, shoes, gear etc.

have you ever ridden a cutout saddle? the kind with a hole in the middle? those seem to lend themselves well to a tri or road position.

As John said, the Cobbs are very popular, but pricey.

Most people are also very happy with Adamo saddles, and they will run you considerably less. They do not, however, have a direct-purchase return policy unless the product is defective. However, they do re-sell very easily.

I had a terrific experience with Serfas Rx saddles in both road and tri positions; it just didn't seem to work with my latest bike. They're also tres cheap! Look at the Rx and Performance models:

Here's a tip for the table: try copying several lines above and below as well, and see if that captures the Manatee.

Also, the names in the list are clickable: if you click on them, they will take you to that particular Manatee's logs.
