Crazypop - 2005-12-03 8:25 PM Trash talk! Where?

ok.. lemme see how I can do this... basically Dana and Shaun were trash talking eachother so I got in there and said this: Dana, Shaun.. go ahead and trash talk eachother as much as you want.. I'll just swim on by with the rest of the Canadian team....

To which Shaun responded:

Since your from the land of hockey, I have to make sure you do realize that swimming is NOT something that is done on a FROZEN pond with metal blades on your feet, eh?

I have yet to answer back.. any suggestions?  Feel free to lemme know.. or of course, you can just go to  http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=31345&posts=24 yourselves and defend/trash talk as you please.

Something along the lines of, "as long as you realize our pools are more suited for exercise than your local watering holes"?

Hi guys,

I know you Canadians and honorary Canadians are going to kick ass. I'll be cheering for you.

I started a new job about a month ago and I have been so busy, so I haven't had any time for BT. I'm sorry that I missed this challenge. I know that you'll do great with the other Jen though. She's a fish.

Jen

Ok here is the latest from the tri'ing for weight loss/swim challenge trash talk.. I have agreed to take part.. so I think I'll be heading to the pool tomorrow.

Since Dana and Elly already stepped up and decided to talk a little intra-team smack, who is willing to put their sig line where there stroke is?

For those of you also doing the December Swim Challenge, lets get a little mano-a-mano duel going here.  No team to hide behind, just you, your pool, and your stroke can save you from having to post "This BonBon sinks like a stone" through the end of the Massacre.

Nothing additional to do from the other swim challenge, but at the end of December, the individual with the most percentage of their goal gets bragging rights through the end of the Massacre.  And in this one, you CAN go over 100%.

I figure what's the worst thing that happens, you lose an extra pound or two?

That happened to me in the august tri challenge. I ended up doing a 5k open water workout to make the challenge. Nice motivation in finding another pool.

As for me, I might make another 3k tomorrow after my exam... then it's two and a half days of hardcore studying. A friday and saturday workout @ 5-6k each. That's about 17k which is weak. The same will be fore next week. - at half way point I'll be about 48k... then it's 80k in two weeks... which reminds me of the days when I used to make 8 workouts a week @ 5.5-6k / workout.

I don't want to come off sounding like my Mother but ......just keep in mind that the Holidays are approching and make sure you buget for the lost time due to the office parties , gift shopping, snow storms  ( Not blizzards) etc.  That said

Keep -up the good work!

Yes.. good advice!  No chance I'll let a measly Blizzard keep me out of the pool   On the agenda for tonight : run and swim.

Keep up the excellent work team!  Oh yeah, we should try and see what we can find to use as the avatar for the other teams (cuz we will win)  Possibly something to do with winter/polar bear swimming with a smart a$$ caption?

I actually plan to get most of my swimming done over the holidays!  Nothing like sleeping in and a couple of leisurely cups of coffee to get me to the pool. I guess I better make sure the pool is open!!

Read a quote here the other day, something like Vin doesnt get wet, the water gets Vin!  Told that to the guys at work and they loved it.

Thats how I felt in the pool tonight.

I did a quick swim following a treadmill run - only had time for 1000m but I'll take it. The pool was very busy today - my lane felt like a tri-swim. God I miss summer!

Another 4200m - my post exam reward. Have any of you ever done that? Celebrate by doing 10 pushups? Go for a 3 hour birthday bike ride ?

Yeah, I've been known to do that.  Not with running, swimming or biking, but with horse back riding.  I will also go ride when I feel sick or have a lot on my mind.  Guess it allows me to focus on what I am doing, not whats bothering me.  Plus its fun, thats the big appeal
