Anyone get any new tri gear for xmas?!?! Yes, Christamas is all about acquiring new Tri gear....I did pick up some new stuff 1. Lock Laces (Blue to match my shoes - Hilde, Tammy(s), Peggy and other color coordinating peeps) 2. Xlab mini-wing kit to hold two bottles behind my seat....for the 50+ milers that will frequently happen eek. 3. Balaclava to keep my head warm this spring....very nice (or rob a gas station)! 4. A bunch of Gu packs - the kiddos loved picking these out!!! 5. CO2 refills for the numerous flats on century rides to hell 6. A couple more water bottles to put on all those cages That's about it for now.....I see a Finis MP3 Player coming my way soon...and the SportCount lap counter for the pool.....Both I think were on Santa's sled...he just forgot to drop them off....So I may have to go get them myself....Need some new jammers too....so I have a variety sexy look in the pool..haha Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas.....Reality returns to all of us soon....ugh....No workouts for me today...to plan...but tomorrow I need to find some water and treadmill to make my bones happy!!! So, off to slouch in my chair and watch some mindless TV while I think about doing nothing and eating another snack....Cuz $hit there are so many FIU$#%@$%@ING snacks around this place...OMG!!! That's ONE HOT PIC Wilson!! OMG!! HOT MESS AT LEAST!!! *puke* lol I forgot that I also bought myself a pool lap counter thingy that I wear on my finger. I got the $30 deal rather than the $40, but now WISH I had paid the extra $10 because the one I got does not remember all laps, just the BEST... :-(( The good thing about it though is that I don't have to count in my head how many laps I did!! Whew!!! LOL I agree about the TOO MANY F'n snacks around this joint!! Good grief Charlie Brown...How in the blue monkeys is a girl supposed to get her sexy on w/all this junk food hangin about?!! |

I haven't been on in some time. I just pedalled and watched TV. Nothing better than watching rich people search for a new home in an exotic locale.

I wish I could make it to Texas for the race, It sounds like a lot of fun. I don't drink either so I could watch in horror with you Thanks for all of the inspires; I haven't figured out how to reply to them yet but they sure make me feel good. |

No fast bike for me under the tree, but I did manage to get a gift card to my LBS, so it will definitely go toward a bike purchase this winter. It sounds like we have some members in our group with some good cycling experience, so I look forward to asking you all some questions as I do more research and get closer to a purchase! Congratulations, Hilde! That's so exciting that you'll have another grandchild soon!! Have to run... My in-laws are on their way for a 2-day visit and our house is a MESS!! Time to swiffer, haha! Kristen, glad you enjoyed my picture!! haha...more to come....don't wan't you to have a nice clear mental canvas..that's be a waste! A few of us have bought bikes recently to replace older ones...so you will have some brain power here as you mentioned. Off the top of my head...Hilde, Turtle, Alex and I have bought new bikes....I know I'm missing one...ugh..anyhow that missing bike can fill us in. Alex bought a roadie and the rest of us went Triathlon bikes....So we may have some comments there too....Of those four I believe we've all bought different brands..haha..Anyhow, looking forward to the bike porn when you purchase one.....that'll be better than the pic I posted..haha |

Extreme Veteran 607 Zionsville, Indiana | Subject: RE: HILDEKQ'S Magnificently Motivational Mentor Group - CLOSED!!!! erinrockrun - 2011-12-26 10:53 AM Andrea, I used to run in lower end Saucony's and they were fantastic. I preferred them over some of the high end Asics and Nike I had at the time. Suzie, the injury was a tibia stress fracture. Btw, your dumbbell set sounds awesome! Wilson, thanks for providing the eye candy. Your Co2 gift just gave me a New Year's resolution inspiration- learn how to change a flat tire. I started road biking last summer but never learned. Watched some youtube videos, but it went right out the window Hope you all had a great Christmas. Loved hearing about everyone's new gear. Santa brought me a pair of Saucony Mirages, some winter running clothing, a bike fit and swim analysis. The swim analysis takes place in an endless pool at the tri shop, and they let you keep the video. It's only $50 so really good value. I also gave my husband a bike trainer so maybe he'll let me use it lol We did a fun Christmas 5K yesterday morning. It was probably not a smart idea considering I JUST started running again but I took it nice and slow and everything seems to feel good. What a neat atmosphere it was- Christmas music, 300 runners and gorgeous scenery around a lake. Apparently, there are only 2 Christmas day 5k's in the USA. We're heading back to KY tomorrow. It's always hard to say goodbye to family but it will be nice to get back to the routine. First indoor tri for us is Jan 29, can't wait! Enjoy the rest of the holiday season, everyone. And thank you, Hilde, for putting together such a neat group! Yep, you gotta know how to change your tire...cuz sooner or later one goes flat!!! It's not hard you can be a pro in no time. Great job on running the Christmas 5k - that sounds cool!! I'm really interested in hearing about your endless pool swim...I've always wondered about them. I'd love to see the video too....to see how it works and get your experience feedback!! Let us know when that happens!! Indoor Tri Jan 29th...wow..that's an early one!!! Yeah Hilde, thanks for putting together such a great group......and allowing me to play along again...cuz you love my sexy men picture posts....I knew it!!! |

Oh and can you add us all as friends so we can see your log and inspire you? Oh and I'm loving the bike riding. In the last 2 rides I've got exactly or close to the mileage I got in the previous week's running/walking. Friends list is updated, sorry i'm still playing catch up!!! |

When you open up an inspire, there should be a little button on the bottom right that says "reply". When you hover over it, it should say "reply in XX's blog". It should then take you to that person's page. If you are still on your own page you are replying in your own blog and it is unlikely the person you are replying to will see it. Let me know if that makes sense, if not ask away and we can help walk you through it. |

I think I could do it, but have yet to put it to the test. While I'd rather test it out in the safety of my own home, if I don't get to it soon I'm going to be testing it out the hard way! |

Ah I knew it was some sort of injury - glad you're doing great getting back. And yes the dumbbell set (I'm still confused as to spelling) is pretty cool. May need to get something lighter than just the bars (2kg each) for some exercises since I have trouble holding them over my head for too long. As to the biking stuff - tire change - I could probably do, maybe if given time and leisure it's attatching all the other stuff that I have an issue with. |

I think my last mentor group might have had this many posts total for the whole season. Took me forever to catch up on just the forum posts from the last week. Hope to return some of the "inspires" soon. Sorry for the non-responses.... after reading through the forum, I realized I too was ignorant of how that worked Glad to hear everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Santa spoiled me rotten this year (although because I'm a tri newbie and can't afford much gear own my own, it's pretty much all I asked for this year).
Happy training this week (for those of you aren't waiting until next week)! My jeans have begun protesting, so I decided not to wait. ~Michelle Edited by arquillo 2011-12-26 7:07 PM |

I managed to get my bike on it pretty easily (that's the part I was most worried about) and took it for a short test ride tonight. Just 15 minutes - enough to get the feel of it and get my heartrate up a little. It's different than riding on a road or on an exercise bike at the gym but I think I like it. It's pretty quiet too. That wasn't too much of an issue for me since it's in the basement, but I know for some people the noisier ones can be a problem. I'm really hoping that having it will get me on the bike more - it's where I need the most help.
