Big Appa - 2012-01-28 12:44 AM Great date and we set I date for Valentine’s Day

People still celebrate Valentines Day?

I kid... congrats. Sucker.

I'm forced to.  My better half is a traditionalist for all that romanticle stuff.

We have to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, valentine's day...  I guess the usual stuff.  PLUS, we have have to go for the day we met.  So there's an anniversary for our wedding AND for the total amount of time we have been dating.  It never ends.  I'm surprised we don't celebrate the date of our first kiss, and first pizza...  She knows it.

We keep it simple. I can't remember the day we were "official" and neither can he. I do know that our first "date" (we knew each other for a while) was also our first pizza (don't judge!). It was a Keller Williams concert almost two years ago, so I'm sure I could dig up that date... but it doesn't matter.

Valentine's day was spent hashing last year. The year before, I was still single, and a male friend and I kayaked out into the intracoastal to watch a waterfront building implode. We ended up tying up to a group of kayakers, passing around sandwiches and beer, among other things. Pretty sure nothing will top that valentine's day!

We don't go out for holidays. As former restaurant workers, we hate the prix-fixe menus.

In related news, we'll be running/drinking our way through South Beach in Red Dresses on 2/11, if anyone would like to join us!

I'm a romantic guy and since I haven’t done a real valentine’s day in a long time I thought it would be fun and she is the kind of girl that likes that. If we were father along in dating I would do something more fun and just us but a date at a fancy romantic restaurant sounds fun at this juncture.

Best of all, they are delivery! Two delicious little piglettes came by motorbike not 20 minutes after I called ...

So. Good. They're barbecued and served with some kind of sweet whiskey sauce. I seriously considered ordering more, but I'd already polished off a bowl of Grape Nuts with chocolate milk (while I was waiting), then a Thai beef salad, a big watermelon juice (with pulp), so I'm almost kinda full.

Of course we have rowing teams. Scull or dragon boat?

Plenty of sculling, but if you're willing to try dragon boat, we have extensive recreational rowing as well as some of the best competitive teams in the world, routinely beating out China!

Ha! Sounds like great fun. Red lipstick too? Or just the dresses?

Any further devs on Tucson?

Lipstick, wigs, purses... all of it!

No Tucson news. The supervisor grilled all of Patrick's references on Friday, so they're considering the counteroffer.

Sculling and Sweep rowing both!  I haven't tried dragon boating, no real interest.  How long does it take a tramp steamer to get to Indonesia I wonder.

No need to even slide bones on this one ... you pretty much just lick the meat and it comes in your mouth. So silky!

Tramp steamers take a while from Florida--there's also no boat line that goes direct from Florida to Indonesia. You have to layover in California. Some nice cruisers take about 8 days to cross the Pacific from there direct to Bali, though, so not too long.

Subject: RE: TAN #160: Just farTAN' around as usual ...

Well good morning..

I just rolled my arse out of bed. I called in to work today, didn't sleep worth a crap last night so I slept this morning. didn't like 6 am so lets try 10am and fresh coffee..  I tend to take two mental health days a year.

How is everyone.
