Soooo.....the chatter had died down cuz everyone is out running and not doing work or anything stupid like that, right?

Yep, that was me - out running. Breaking the 9 min mark on a non-race run for the first time...ever? Well, in a long time anyway. Can I get an Eeeeaaaaaawwww!?!

EeeeeaaaaaaAAAAWWWW!  Great job Deanna.

And no, I wasn't out running, or riding either.    I left work early, brought work/studying home with me, and crashed so hard on the couch I had trouble persuading myself to stand up later.  By the time I was fully conscious, it was time to get back to work.

My blind friend Liz had to reschedule our regular Wednesday run to Saturday this week, so I'll get up and do my tempo run before my office hour tomorrow.  Yay!  Running IS fun, darnit!

Hidey-ho, neighbors & neighborettes! The weather has cooled in the Dallas area. This morning was 62 when I started my run!

Please, put me down for 6.1 miles.

Hello All. Have found out that I need to keep away from your blogs & threads until I have watched all the NFL games I have recorded. Saw the word Cowboys out of the corner of my eye whilst on Tex's blog. Just knew something strange was going to happen the longer I watched the game. Said to my youngest, just watch I bet Dallas win. You could see him weighing up the possibilities. Need to recover onside kick & get in FG range. Nah! But they did.

Good run for me this morning. Pleased with pace also. Have 5 hours of riding lined up this weekend, one hilly, so need to get some more running distance in again tomorrow, especially as I have to catch up last weeks deficit.

How does this challenge work. Is it an overall team mileage that counts or does everyone have to complete their own targets?

Keep up the good work everyone. Black Magic Rules!

Hey Team
Sorry, I haven't checked in since Friday. On weekends and evenings, I try and stay away from computers (I am forced to stare at one all day at work), so you might not hear from me over the weekends. I do 'find' time to check the thread during breaks at work.
So, I jumped into the training log thing. THE ROUTE FEATURE IS FREAKIN' AWESOME. It could possibly change my life. I now have no excuse for not knowing my distances I will run or have ran. It will greatly impact the efficiency and the motivation factors in my training.

So, the 3 mile route I always run, is really 3.5, by the route feature. If I can, I would like to recalculate last weeks totals. Just kidding.

The route feature IS awesome. It really helps me since I tend to run the same route over and over. It collects the data and then you can look at the history of that route and see your improvements.

Understandable about staying away from the computer during the weekends, just as long as you keep your logs up to date.

Keep at it!

whoohooo! Good to see you Johndeere - staying off the screens all weekend is great! Now that we know you're hanging tough.

And you absolutely can correct your mileage from last week, please do!!! We'll catch it up at the next week's posting.

For those that didn't see - we are in THIRD PLACE! and not too far behind, so let's all try to hit our goals and WIN!!!

For me, got the bike ride/run brick thing done today - yes! Been awhile since I've done that one.

Take care all,
Ann

UGH! Yesterday's 6+ run did not happen.  Beat from the pool.  I was hoping my training partner would shame me into getting out, but he had dive training today and was pretty tired from Monday too.

I targeted 4, but only slogged 3 miles out today.  It was a lot hotter than it let on, and frankly I have so much going on inside, I had to toss myself outside.

Past three was turning into junk, so I'll get out and finish tomorrow morning before the bike.  That still gives me Friday and Saturday to meet my ten mile goal for this week.  Just not motivated, but still going through the motions.

BUT!  I was reading what the planned 'punishment' will be as far as avatars for the loosing team.  Frankly?  I look good in spandex, have killer legs, and I live in SoFla - I'm pedicured to the max.  I promise to those of you who fear one of the above, you won't be on display because of me!

Like my custom Patriot's jersey says ...

Great job everybody ... let's move up in the standings this Monday!

Logged 3miles today. Did some warmup, cool down, and INTERVALS. First time in a while. I didn't last very long - perhaps 40 minutes of elevated HR (including rest periods).

INTERVALS HURT.

But I'm getting stronger, and it's not just my smell. :-)

Bippity boppity boo 16 miles for all of you...   Yep, we did it, we knocked out a 16 miler this morning...black Army PT shorts suck...they get all hard and crispy after a run and sometimes during a run due to sweat...then it shows up really well on the shorts, I had half-white shorts today especially where I wear my water belt.  Weather was great, and it was the furthest I have ever run.

AND I may have inspired my sister to train for a half marathon/marathon...she's in California, used to be quite fit and athletic, but yea, not so much anymore...but I think my run time from the 10-miler and a definite change in my body comp etc., has pushed her to get better, so I'm HAPPY about that! Hope it works.

Next run on tap may be a light brick on Sat. to loosen up the legs, and then a 2 mile APFT run on Sunday--would LOVE to get this below 14 minutes!

GO TEAM GO!

Keep up the good work everyone. Black Magic Rules!

We EACH have to hit our targets - our score the average of our percentages!  Plus I think the rules are that it stops at 100% for each of us.  So even if Brittany runs 200% of her goal, she doesn't win the challenge unless all of us do our job too!  It's the least we can do for our Black Magic Sister over there in Bagdad, right all????   As much as the men of BT would love to see foolproof's legs, we'll just have to win and deny them that opportunity.

Another run for you guys today, but not quite in Tex's league, almost though, almost. Noticed that I wasn't picking my legs up properly towards the end, so thought of CitySky's "pretty little knees", which inspired me to get mine up. No stops (no intervals, ha, ha!).

Was a bit stupid as I hadn't planned this distance. Went out taking young 'un to school without having any food or drink whatsoever - 'City' I took 5 Jelly Babies but Nic ate one on the way to school. They just melted in my mouth, wanted more.

JELLY BABIES
Jelly Babies, delicious baby shaped jelly sweets in a variety of colours and flavours, everybody loves Jelly Babies

Can I have a rest now that I have caught up with last weeks deficit, PLEASE ?

I did my 3.5 mile loop yesterday evening. Weather is really cooling off here. Provided October doesn't become too wet (we are the middle of a bad drought), the weather shouldn't prevent me from hitting my goal.

Will be away from the internet till Tuesday, hopefully.

Good job on all the running folks.

So, here's the bad news. I've been having some foot pain for a while, which I've been trying to brush off as nothing major. I still think it's pretty minor, but I went to my acupuncturist yesterday and she did a treatment and admonished me into giving it a few days rest. And, now my husband is sick, and I'm feeling like I'm fighting it. So, all things combined are telling me to not run for a day or two here. I'm not ready to change my goal yet. (I was a little ahead of the curve last week.) But, this is going to be a light week. I think I might just shoot for about 4 this weekend, and I'm definitely skipping my run today - that'll keep me really close to my goal (if I count walking, which at the moment I'm logging).

Argh...grumble, grumble, grumble.

Well, I got the 'nuther 3 in today.  I know, it's puny but ... I'm .6 miles just under halfway to meet my monthly goal.

More to come tomorrow!  (oh, and there was 20  mile bike on top of it.

Keep it going Ken. You're getting some great miles in, & swims & rides. Excellent all round efforts.

Just noticed we are the same weight. Do you weigh yourself before or after exercise? Me, I log before weight. What I'd give to get down to that 165 lb mark of yours the other day
