pinot noir... nice...

SONOMA COUNTY Pinot Noir, no less!  +10,000 points!

We finished off one of these last night:

It's a 1 liter jug.  I had two glasses. So yummy!

Yes, that's a screw cap.  The wine is quite good, but the guys bottling it like having fun, so they put it in a jug with a screw cap.

How everyone doing? I know that a couple people have raced over the past weekend (congratulations!). What about everyone else? How is the goal progress going? Anyone needing a friendly kick to get moving?

Things are going well for me. I'm on track for the swimming and running, but need to up the effort to make my core workouts goal. As for the wine and beer consumption, I'll attend to that goal tomorrow. One of our local eateries has $2 pints on Thursday nights...I'm in the mood for some Guinness .

I think I'm pretty much on track.  I'm a bit concerned about my goal of 1000 ball crunches.  As it is now, I can barely get 25 done without resting (Ok, I can do 13, and then 12).  At this rate, I will fall woefully short by the end of the month.  I did a quick calculation, and I need to start doing 2 sets of 25 a night later this week to hit 1000.  I may not be able to walk upright next week.

I will continue to bike commute as much as possible as long as the weather holds out.

Running is just something I will have to suck it up and do regardless of weather.

And swimming... I just need to drag myself to the pool and do it.

Same with my weight workouts.  But that's easier to do, since Eric and I go together 2x a week at least.  I'll aim for 3x this week and next, just in case we have to miss one over T-day weekend.

You bet.  I'm slowly learning about how this 4th sport in triathlon can be a nice compliment in the off season.

Sounds like you have it for the swimming, running, and commuting.  As for the ball crunches, who needs to walk upright?  That's what the wine is for, right?    I have to admit that one of my major motivators for signing up for Vineman HIM (not IM yet...I still need time to think about it) next year is the winery visits following the race.

Whoa, team, I'm here. I've just had two unbelievable days at work - not a workout in sight. Didn't plan on two days down, but I'm just buried. Might have to resort to 4-a-days over Thanksgiving. Heh.

I'm planning to overload on all my efforts.  The hardest is the situps, but after a week they are getting easier to do and not so traumatic to my abs!  I absolutely hate falling behind, so the plan is to build a safety buffer.  If I have to, I'll fly out to Michigan and drag Kreuser out of work in order to help him get his workouts in!

Heh.  I live here and don't do the winery tour thing.  You should do Vineman.  I should talk.  I signed up for it this year, paid my registration, and then completely blew off all training.  That was an expensive lesson.  *sigh*

I should be better prepared for it next year, if I manage to get through this marathon training.

See, we knew that when you bought a new bike, you wouldn't be able to stay off it.  I figure by the end of the month you will be up to double your mileage goal!!

Unless of course you drink too much wine!

On track and a little ahead with swimming. If the weather and my knees hold, I want to add some margin on the biking in case the weather takes a turn for the worse towards the end of the month.

Oh no!!!  Once it drops below 30C you are going to have to dress up like this to ride the bike!
