Mel, from me, welcome as well...we're all here at different levels, with different strengths and weaknesses, and all one thing in common--getting better--be it leaner, faster, stronger, or just simply being "cool triathletes" (haha)!  This will be my first tri season this next year, and I'm itching at the bit. I'm getting ready to go knock out a long run this afternoon in some fairly decent weather...tomorrow I really need to get out on the bike again...

Kat- I loved the 5000th post, and yes, I absolutely need more T.I.T.S. too!!

excited2tri - 2007-12-21 7:18 AM Well, I went out for a walk/run today! So that is 2 days in a row, woohoo! I haven't done anything in about 6 weeks. It felt really great to get back out there. I have pretty much lost off of my conditioning, but that will come back in time. One of the reasons I did join this group was so I would be accountable to hopefully become more consistent in my training. I am sure once full training kicks in, in January, I will be pestering everyone for advice.

Im off work from today (Friday) until Jan 7th so will be popping in and out so pester away!

We made it to the end of another week and I hope everyone has fun plans for the weekend.  I'm off to holiday parties with friends and family.

Mel - I don't know of any swimming books on drills.  I only know about Total Immersion, which I own, but haven't read as of yet.

Melissa - have a look online for drills.. Im pretty sure there are a lot here on BT.

I need to have a search but I know in the past i have found some sites that include video which will show you the drills and what they look like which are really helpful when trying to learn.

If you have something specific you need to work on with your swim I (and the rest of this group) will probably be able to recommend some specific drills for you to make it easier than trying to work it all out for yourself! And to give you some options!
