CONGRATULATIONS TO WHO'S YOUR MARMADADDY?! BUT remember that this is only the SECOND week of the challenge! January is only 41.9% completed. There's still time to help your team achieve that #1 ranking! So get out there and Swim/Bike/Run!... And then Swim/Bike/Run some more! Dee and Beth |

No wind here today, but there was some postholing in a foot of snow I don't know how you guys do it in the snow and cold like that...you should get 1.5 miles credit for every mile run in the snow/ice. I love to run in the rain but NOT the cold. Did 36.5 minutes yesterday and it was great. Planning on some more tonight while the granddaughter is at Karate. Edited by Reno8 2008-01-15 2:07 PM |

TinkerBeth 23096 Liverpool, New York | Subject: RE: Funky-Chrono-Monkeys of the Frozen Cinder Tundra January Challenge Week 2 (aka, The World According to Beth) Swim, bike, run, post, post, post! The cornerstones of the January Challenge! Ok, so posting really isn’t one of the triathlon sports, and really has nothing to do with the January challenge, although early in week 2 you wouldn’t have known that based on the posting activity of the Talking Tilapia Flying Fish and the Twisted Blisters! Members of both teams took the posting challenge to heart and members of each team valiantly tried to out post each other. They even started to resort to replying to each other’s posts within their own thread (ummmm, certainly nothing yours truly would have done) – LOL!! Captains Kendra and Beth called a truce and started new threads and the focus is back on the challenge (although, the blisters are ahead in the post count hehehe!) Funky-Chrono-Monkeys of the Frozen Cinder Tundra – Captain Bluejack Flying Fish – Captain Kendra Team Ride Lots – Captain Scott Loving Every Mile – L.E.M. - Captain Lisa Who’s your Marmadaddy? – Captain Sal Wet and Wild – Captain Jeni Twisted Blisters – Captain Beth Scrambled Legs – Captain 1for1 Team T.I.T.S – Captain Max (aka keeper of the T.I.T.S) |

Champion 23360 Taser-World | Subject: RE: Funky-Chrono-Monkeys of the Frozen Cinder Tundra jcjsc00 - 2008-01-14 11:41 PM Hey we're down in 7th, but only 3% below the amount of month completed. I don't know about y'all but I have more time scheduled in the last 16 days then I did in the first 14. Lets keep at it, hit our goals and set ourselves up for a great season!!!!! Well, "Who's Your Marmadaddy?" is having a "Men vs Women Challenge." So they're highly motivated and going full speed ahead right now. That said, they can't get more than 100% of their goals. So if they hit their goals early, all they can do is either set new (higher) goals, or sit out the rest of the month (while the other teams progress at a more reasonable pace). Also, like you said, there are training plans that ramp up at the end of the month. So some people "appear" behind, even though they really aren't. It's all good. The main thing is that none of us are sitting on the couch watching TV and eating potato chips. LOL (Besides, if I'm going to sit on the couch and watch TV, I'd rather have a bag of cookies. Potato chips just don't do it for me!) Dee |

Now that Kendra's back, I'm leaving for vacation. But I've factored that in, so I shouldn't have any problem making my goal (unless something happens while we're skiing, that is). We don't start skiing until Saturday, so I should be able to get a couple more runs in before then.

It is feeling better but I am not pushing it! Keep up the great work everyone!! They're predicting bad weather for tomorrow. So, of course, I stopped off at the supermarket. (As did every other person in the county. The place was PACKED.) For some reason, hearing "possibility of snow, sleet and ice" makes me crave junk food. Yes, I gave in.... I bought SO much junk food, it's incredible. It hasn't even started snowing here, but I've already eaten a bunch of cookies. I'm starting to feel like a stuffed potato.... Glad to hear your foot is feeling better! |
