How was your first Super Bowl party? I enjoyed the people. The game was okay. They did just sit and watch the football game, so I spaced out a little. But there was lots of good food. I ate a little too much just to have something to do. I guess since the game was close, no one else got bored enough to want to play cards. Oh well, I still had fun with the conversations that swirled around the room. |

He instructed the HR person on Friday to make me an offer. Hopefully I get it today!!! Dee, I know they have their computers locked down tighter than we do here, but I always have my phone with me and I can post from there. YES!!! I hope you hear today! Do you give two weeks notice and so forth? I'm not going to give notice until I have officially received an offer, and have a start date. I don't know if I'll give 2 full weeks though. I'm not worried about burning any bridges here or with my current company. I did tell my husband that I am going to give myself a few days off between this job and new job. I have some things I'd like to do around the house, and I could use a bit of down time, too. |

MotoQueen 13195 | Subject: RE: 100 days of Ghoulie Power! Good morning Ghoulies! Saw about half of the game last night and maybe half the commercials. Nothing really jumped out at me. Godaddy.com made me sick with all the half naked women. did not send me the message that they were in business for anything besides skin. But I'm sure that most of the males watching sure enjoyed those commercials. Edited by kns57 2012-02-06 9:42 AM |

That's a record for him. Me, I've been with the library for 22 years. But I did switch around in a bunch of different positions. the one position that lasted 8 years it involved traveling between the branches to do programs, so it was constantly changing and kept my interest. MotoQueen 13195 | Subject: RE: 100 days of Ghoulie Power! Now it looks like I'll end my career here as a Branch Manger. I don't think any of the director positions are going to be opening any time soon. the people in those positions are roughly my age and they won't get much better pay in any nearby library system so I think they will all be retiring from those positions which is a shame, because my immediate boss is useless. You ask a question and you don't get an answer, or she asks you something back, which was all explained in the original email. I feel like writing "As stated in previous email..." but then I figure that I would get bad marks on my review. Oh Well. Luckily I do like my job. |

I think I'll just stay right here for now. Besides, going to another system, even the closest one would mean driving over an hour one way to get there. No thanks. I like my 12 mile, 20 minute commute.kns57 - 2012-02-06 7:49 AM Ann, your job history is like my hubby's. Usually the longest is 3 years in a place. He has been where he is now for 4 years. Champion 14677 | Subject: RE: 100 days of Ghoulie Power! I went to 3 superbowl parties yesterday. One started at 4:00. I went there for 1.5 hours just so the person throwing it couldn't say 'she had somewhere more IMPORTANT to go". Second one was at the friend who had the suicide tragedy a few weeks ago. It was a lovely happy gathering with both families involved in the tragedy and good friends. It really was nice. The third was at a friends house who called announcing their party as we were leaving for number 2. We finished off the game there. It was the only part of the game (or commercials) we watched... the last 20 minutes or so. |

We already had plans to cook dinner together and I told him that if we did go, i would not be staying the whole time. I think he wanted an excure to not go, because I offered to go and he decided that we would not go. I was happy. |

Champion 14677 | Subject: RE: 100 days of Ghoulie Power! Let me try to share a sweet vignette at the second party while "watching" the game. I hope I can describe it well. In a crowded room, on one end of the couch was the daughter, who was engaged (and found) to the young man who recently committed suicide. She was learning to knit. On the other end of the couch was her mother who was also learning to knit. In between, the mother of the young man. She was teaching the other two to knit. The trio was engrossed in what they were doing. I was rapt watching and conversing with them thinking of the layers and ties between them. Hard to describe the connections between them but it was sad and tender and nice all at once. |

I was tired and grumpy, being outside in the snow for SAR wore me out. I decided it would be best if I went home, so my husband took me back up the road. They were down there over an hour before the game started, too. I spent the next couple of hours in a quiet house lying on the floor with my pups. There may have been some napping involved. |
