You will both do fine. Heck, better than fine, you will do terrific. If you forget your camera, I know perfectly well your cell phones will take pictures. Might not be the best quality or resolution, but better than nothing. No excuses. Kate - have a good swim lesson and don't worry about the ows. You already conquered that demon. Don't let it back. |

I think the grinch is good or maybe crazy Jack Nickelson face from the SHINING! Hmmm. Maybe he is more scary then nuts. ?? I agree about the jerseys should be a cheerful color. I am more OK with the Grinch on steroids than Jack Nicholson from The Shining. What we do isn't easy and ... it's not easy being green. That's gotta work as well for the Grinch as for Kermit. |

I am going for a nature hike with the daughter ..then to a big sale at the bike shop and then hopefully a two hour ride..keeping my fingers crossed with the weather. OK I love Colorado but am getting really sick of the food. Being the good catholic I am I went to an Italian place for dinner last night..no fish fry..what? No fish fry during lent? and no gnocchi onthe menu either. I guess next week I'll have to try the Irish places to see if they have a fish fry... I really do miss the midwest when it comes to comfort food. If worse comes to worse I did find a place (a very divey bar across from the old nuclear weapons site) that flies in lake perch from Wisconsin every Thursday night or a Friday fish fry. Of course instead of 8.50 for all you can eat it is 16.00 for two pieces..but its cheaper then flying back home. Lisa - I knew you were older but didn't want to draw attention to it..I think Kate is actually younger then me. (chronologically not mentally) and don't you love how we have to race at our age that we are going to be... Anyway you and Kate have fun! Kiri - have fun on your ride... Bright Colors? What? I was thinking red and white..so it goes with all my University of Wisconsin clothing. |

I learned today that after riding 56 miles I could not even run 1 let alone 13 at this time. Maybe stumble/walk a couple max... but lounging on the couch with my legs up is so much more comfortable right now... There's a lotta work to do before i'll be ready for HIM. The good news is I improved my time up to Vista House by 26+ minutes since the same ride last year. Probably wouldve been a tad bit faster without the heinous head wind up the 5 mile hill. Now i'm going to drink some OJ and think about soon to be made home made pizza for dinner. FOOD!  |

I was going to try to make this my Judi ride but we decided not to tack on the extra 10 since I have a race tomorrow. Hmmm. I will hit 50 if I could add in tomorrow's race. Maybe I'll put my photos up for you all to check out anyway. I picked up my race packet today. It is going to be a small race, only about 250 people. This will be a good starting race if it doesn't pour rain in the morning like it is supposed to. Scott - You are such a crazy guy. There will be no racing involved between me and Lisa! This is a race to start the season and work out the kinks. Great ride today! 20 feels like 40 on a mountain bike. Kiri and Judy - Great rides! Everyone is putting up the mileage! Good luck to Leah and Elke on their big OLY tomorrw. Lisa and I will tackle a sprint at the same time. GO NUTSO!! |

Expert 843 Gilbert | Subject: RE: Have I lost my mind to consider a HIM? We survived our Tri! I'm so happy it didn't rain on us. The rain started as soon as we were finished. We lucked out! Hopefully Leah didn't rained on. The race went OK. The best part was that I got to see Lisa. She took a bunch of photos so I'm anxious to see how they turned out. I'll post a race report soon, but the quick update is that I didn't do as well as I had hoped. I feel like I have a LONG way to go to be ready for the HIM. I choked on the swim again. I think what got me this time is that the water tasted HORRIBLE! It taked like it was 95% salt. I wasn't prepared for that. I must have looked like a mess in the water b/c the lifeguard came over to me 3 times to see if I need help or a break. (It was only a 600 m swim!) I'm still waiting on the results. We'll see how it goes. Can't wait to hear how Leah and Elke's race went. |

Very strange taste in my mouth most of the day even after brushing my teeth several times. Good thing it was short. I think I sized the photos wrong. And it was terrific to see the pictures of Lisa and Kate smiling after their race. Get your race reports posted! Here is my race report.
