Let's go back to the most daring thing you've done. I only saw a few responses?

I have something daring I *want* to do but I'm about to chicken out. Inspire me.

what is it that you want to do?

Propose to Superman that we date. I mean actually date, not drunkenly booty call each other every 3 or 4 months.

JUST DO ITTTT.

I know I should. It's just nerve wracking.
And next time we meet up (I've asked for dinner or drinks) do I bring it up at the beginning/middle/end of the outing? I mean if he says no at the beginning that could be really awkward really fast.

I feel like I'm 12 right now.

If you can booty call, you can have adult conversations and expectations.

My unsolicited advice #1 - Avoid all of the stereotypical relationship banter, "What are we?", "What do we label 'this'?",  etc. Even if you do everything perfectly, you cannot avoid the associations of every bad experience a male has had with conversations that start that way.

Unsolicited advice Option #2, and more in line with TAN, --- If nerves are a problem, go the alter ego route, and be an actress playing a role.

Next booty call, tie him up, wear a costume/mask, tease him to no end, and explain how happier he would be if he started treating you the way you deserve.... starting with a nice date out to a classy dinner.

If it works, awesome (and you owe me a token set of TYR socket rockets as a thanks), if it does not, it will still be one hell of a fun night!

Of course, you can fully disregard the advice of a male, internet chat-room compadre that has been married for over 7 years, and, although I have no memories of life before wife, I hear stories that I avoided that conversation like the plague.

after one drink - that's a good 20 minutes of flirting/catching up/loosening up.  but do it AFTER the 2nd round is at the table, no need to have the waitress walk up in the middle of THAT conversation!

That's too late.  Right before sex.  Just after foreplay.  Men hate to jump off the train before it is their stop.

I ate lobster on my son's birthday.

Also, how many people would have ever heard of 2Live Crew if there wasn't a concerted effort to ban/boycott them?

Free publicity anyone?

Not awkward just get up and walk out.  Your much more than a piece of posterior if he cant realize that, dude is an idiot.  If you ask in the middle make sure its after dinner and enjoyed your meal and company, if he says no,  see notes above.

I have something daring I *want* to do but I'm about to chicken out. Inspire me.

 - Move to California by myself after Grad School not knowing anyone or anything about where I was moving. Although it took me a few psycho-chick dates, I found my wife and am living happily ever after.

 - TAN version - I refuse to acknowledge any memories from life before wife, but I do recall a story about a beautiful classmate and the MIT Dome on building 7. I am so grateful for the lack of true internet when I was in college.

Lobster is cheaper than burger this week. $3.99 a pound for 1 1/4 lobsters. I'm actually tierd of eating it.

Know YOUR expectations otherwise might as well enjoy the wave and not ruin a good FANTASY of what a relationship with him might be like.
