Todd - I am not sure what device you have paired with the GSC but make sure it is set to indoors. Also, on my 910 I have it set to auto for the wheel circumference calculation. Last night when I rode, the readings were accurate. The tension on the trainer can affect things too. |

It would kill my back and hands to ride a road bike all winter. Karen - what seat are you getting? I got the prologue. After reading tons of reviews, it seemed like the best saddle for tri and provides a longer overall back portion so sitting up is ok too. It arrived today so we'll see. I will report back. |

We had masters in the (heated) outdoor pool, and while we were going back and forth, it started snowing, hard! It's an unusual sensation to turn your head to take a breath and have a big fat snowflake land on your tongue. That sounds very cool. Swimming outdoors...in a heated pool...while it's snowing. I want to sign up for that! |

I am incredibly amazed in this weather (below 0 windchills, especially after the 60's on Tuesday) that I am able to force myself in the pool. I HATE being cold and the water is so cold and swimming hits every cell of your skin ... no hiding! My flip turns are absolutely horrendous! Really need to work on those. Any good videos I can watch? I come off the wall pointed straight or down .... Also, I am finding, maybe just a coincidence, that since starting hot yoga, I am colder ... I don't need fans to work out, I get cold without them, and it takes me several, I mean several laps to warm up and not be freezing in the pool. Coincidence? |

I didn't really plan on getting a bike computer. Should I just get a cadence sensor and adaptor to put the watch on the bike? Or should I just get a cheap cateye? What does everyone else do prefer? Or can I leave the watch on my wrist? Is that annoying and hard to see while riding? Also, other than capturing the swim, what are the other differences between the 310 and 910? |

I don't know anything about the 910, but I have the 310. I use it for everything. On the bike I still wear it on my wrist, I don't really look at it that often. I have a cheap computer on my road bike, that I could swap to my tri bike if I wanted, but if I want to know HR, time or distance I just look at my wrist. Now that may change when i get my powertap going (this weekend), but for now I'm fine just putting my 310 on my wirst. |

Extreme Veteran 3020![]() ![]() | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2013 (Year 3!) - CLOSEDI am off to swim and lift. My day is crazy. Kevin and I are taking Conrad and 10 of his friends bowling this afternoon. Then I'm hosting a family birthday party for Con. He asked for grilled brats (EW!), so we have to fire up this grill in freezing temps. LOL My husband is taking the older 3 to a hockey game this evening while I cuddle my sick 2 year old. The day is going to be loooong. I have the 305 permanently attached to my bike. I use the 910 for swimming and running. The 910 is great for races. You just hit the lap button after each segment (even transitions). It's nice to have those splits right after the race. There's nothing like immediate gratification. |

Veteran 580![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2013 (Year 3!) - CLOSEDI did a bit of research on the 910 before I pulled the trigger. From what I recall, the big difference is that you can use the 910 for OWS. There is also a quick release mount where you can take off the watch from your wrist with a twist and affix it to your bike. I am not sure what kind of data/metrics are on the 310 but you can more data from the 910 that you can use. As Jen said, there are functions so that you can use the 910 in multisport mode for a tri and also record time for transitions. Here is an excellent review: http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2011/10/garmin-forerunner-910xt-in-depth-review.html Run test today: Good times x 4 |
