Champion 23360 Taser-World | Subject: RE: They Who Shall Not be Named! spokes - 2007-11-07 8:08 PM Dee - I can jump in here and say that all the running I've done has paid off in a BIG way. Last year, at this time, I ran 10 miles at an 11:42/mile clip. Now, I can do it in 8:35. That's a wee bit of improvement. After the marathon, I'm going to focus on speed work for the first quarter of 2008. Most of my races are in the 2-4 mile range on du legs, so I need SPEED. I need to figure out how to run/jog without hurting my knee or ankle.... I did 1.65 miles walk/jog on Sunday, and my knee and ankle are still not on speaking terms with me. (Actually, they ARE on speaking terms, and they've let me know they aren't happy.) |

This is me in my early pick-a-sport days, then during my no-sport-but-try-to-look-sexy days. I'm looking for one that shows my current more sporty look... Great start! |

Are you overstriding or heelstriking? I was having horrible problems with running, then tried a bit of barefoot running and it was like a whole new world opened up. When barefoot, you can't help but have proper form, and good form does a lot for keeping the pain away. |

LOL What's the current rule? Are they supposed to be me, or generic hotness pix? Goodness knows I am not interested in breaking any rules! You know what I *really* think Hector? I'm willing to bet the rate of participation in this thread, in terms of watching oneself 'in the mirror during a certain activity' is right at 100%, given all the interest in pictures. LOL Undoutbly you must be right. Hence the strong attraction to this black hole of ours. |

I was thinking I should do that. There isn't any place near me though, so it means doing a road trip to a place with a "real store." I'm probably overstriding. When I went out Sunday, I tried to shorten my stride. Still ended up with knee/ankle issues. |

Sal!!!!! how did the market research go?! Great! Very creative group of people...don't know that we quite have concepts that will compete in an already saturated market, but that's o.k....I got a walleye sandwich for lunch (I'm easily bought ), and got to spend some time with some fun people...of course, they don't hold a candle to the Twisnibbins!!! sounds like a great day! we missed you of course :-) |

Oh, or post pics! That's always a popular alternative here. LOL Or run more. You can always run. 2x a day workouts. That's how you can do 20 and not die on a regular basis. Although I did all 3 of my 20+ mile runs this year in one shot. But you don't have to be me. |
