I'm getting all excited for the marathon again. I started making a little game plan list as far as mental preparation and focus goes, etc. In a few weeks, I can decide what I'm going to wear

Are you going to wear a costume? I'm considering it - something that would be comfortable to run in too.

Nope - just normal running clothes. I want to be comfortable. But since I'm not sure what the weather will be like, I don't know what top I will wear. I have several pairs of the Nike running shorts that I lof, which I will probably wear. And smartwool socks as they are comfy and if it is wet, they will still be comfy (wore 'em during Cherry Blossom). Just not sure about tops yet - I know that if it's cooler, some folks wear a layer that they bought for cheap somewhere to dispose as they warm up.

I've done that.  A cheap long sleeved tshirt (or one that I don't want anymore) works really well.  You can take it off and leave it.  So nice because I usually only want a tshirt after about 6 or 7 miles even in October/November.

bcart1991 - 2008-09-09 3:11 PM Carp, I'm getting sleepy again. I even got to bed at a decent hourlast night too. Bah.

Sleep is over-rated.

I wholeheartedly disagree.
Rice Krispie treats are UNDERrated... mmmm
x a billion... I could eat an entire pan of those things without a problem. They are fantastic.

I had one on Sunday night after church - if you signed up for the retreat, you got one. I was already planning on signing up, but it was a tasty surprise.

Right - last year, it was really nice weather. Two years prior, it was much cooler.

Now I just need to figure out where I'm going to stick all my gels. Hammers and GUs. I've decided I don't really like Clif shots after all. The chocolate ones are good, but only for biking cuz chocolate and running is gross.

A "treat" for a "retreat".  Someone was clever.

I think I'm going to get a fuel belt race # belt that has a pouch on it and keep my food in that.  Like this one .

Oh, actually, yeah, I saw those pouchy things just by themselves at the running store - probably so you can attach them to an existing race number belt. I have the kind of belt with the snaps, but I sort of think I might want one with the toggles instead. The snaps don't always line up with the holes in my race number. It was only $8, I can always give it to another newb triathlete. Cuz the link you posted has a pink one. And I certainly think I need a pink one

Yeah, I like the pink one.  I have a snap one, too, and I hate it.  The toggles seem easier.  I think you get a fuel belt discount either through BT or if you're a USAT member.

Rynamite - 2008-09-09 4:39 PM I don't think anyone has. I've been neglecting TAN lately. I apologize, work as been getting in the way.

Nah, it's quite all right. My job has just been pretty slow. Until someone needs something, because everyone waits until the last minute around here. So then it gets bad.

Schweet. Though if they have the pink one at one of the local running stores, it'll probably cost the same since I won't have to pay for shipping.

Actually, now that I think about it, I think I may have seen the pink one at Conte's. The new Conte's is attached to a branch of a local running store that is owned by a pro triathlete. So they have a lot of stuff.
