Another bust yesterday...
I was walking out of work when they caught me to help on a problem.... 3 hrs later: problem solved, workout busted!

So, to avoid three rest days in a row at all costs, I ran this morning (6.5 miles). Now, I have that "sick" feeling again - like I am on the verge of getting a cold or something... same feeling I had when I worked out in the am last time. I'm not sure what to make of it.

abqtj - 2011-03-02 4:38 PM went for a real short walk/run to test out my right heel. Felt "ok" most of the time, but I can still feel the pain.
Bummer Steve. Listen to your body, don't push it - it's not worth s lifetime of injury.

Agree x 10000.  I'm finding the more conservative I treat my injury the better it's treating me.  Off day/swim inbetween every long bike or run of any nature.

So the family and I are going to the Houston Rodeo on Saturday.  Have never partaken in the deep fried goodies before because I'd always be the fat guy eating the fat food, but I may do it this go round.

Ran 3 miles this morning, and everything felt great!  I'm a little tight and sore now, but it's an improvement!  I stretched really well & iced the hamstring and groin.  I'd forgotten how hard running is on my body.  It's not something that comes easily to me......I only started running last June.  I think it's going to take a while to get back to where I was in early Jan.  I'm hoping to run every other day - all easy runs - for the next month, until my olympic plan starts up.

Swim drills in pool tonight & core work when I get home.

Feeling great today!!!

Good job!

Running isn't something that comes easily or naturally to me either.  Swimming and riding are much more natural to me.

Yes ma'am.  I know at the State Fair there were fried frito pies, fried guacamole, fried lattes, etc.  There is nothing that can't be fried if you freeze it or put it into a pastry of some nature.

Mid-afternoon headache (not happy).

Coffee and ibuprophen with the hopes of feeling better by the time I get home to ride.

I love the rodeo.  I go every chance I get to go to a legitimate rodeo.  Nothing beats a small town rodeo.  Unfortunately, there's not too many to go to on Long Island.  (And just bull riding indoors doesn't count as a rodeo)

Hey guys, posted this on the gear forum but Kelly asked me to post here.  Hope some of you find it useful:

------------------------------------

OK everyone, just tried the poolmate tonight.  Couple of things:

Strengths:
-  It is pretty cool that it tracks laps, yards, stroke count, time per set, etc (I lost track between 4 & 5 laps on a 300, I know SAD) - it worked perfectly on freestyle
- I like that it tracks without pressing buttons or thinking about it (I am a dork and lost track all the time)

Weakness:
- Hard to read and small font (have to look real hard or take goggles off), which sucks when you are doing sets on time and don't need to be trying to read a watch while catching your breath
- DOES NOT TRACK kick only sets (of which I did a total of 600) and timed out (so started a new set when I was done)
- Was off by 50 on my 400 backstroke

I can deal with all the weaknesses except tracking the kicking. Anyone have thoughts on this one?  Am I wrong?  I want it to track my entire workout, not part of it.
