Interesting, the Madison Marathon is cancelled for this weekend because of hot weather:

There was an Ironman done in the same conditions last Saturday.  Just sayin.

New favorite smoothie -- green tea, whey protein, cherries, bananas and peaches.

Hope everyone is having a good Saturday.

2 hr 15 min ride this morning. The guy I was supposed to ride with called me 10 minutes after he was supposed to meet me. Apparently had too good of a time at the red sox game the night before.

Hello everyone! Hope you all had a great Saturday. Ran an hour on the hilly Bull Run/Manassas battlefield park today, whew that one kicked my butt! Just finished up some yard work getting ready for guests tomorrow then getting some good ole Memphis style ribs ready for smoking tomorrow. To bad none of you live closer because I would be nice enough to share

45 mile ride this morning. Perfect weather. A little humid but enough shaded areas to recover. Happy memorial day.

That's exactly what I did but it looked like it could rain at any time so I had to stick some what close to home. I had planned to go a little bit longer but it got really dark and the wind picked up so I sprinted the last few miles home to beat it. Pulled in and cleaned my chain and gears and put the bike away. By the time I toweled off and went up strairs it was totally clear and never rained, LOL. I was feeling a bit burnt so it was for the best.

How often do you or anyone else clean their chain. I really only clean and lube the chain once a week. Should I be doing more than that?

The biek fairy cleans my chain at least once a week and more often if I end up riding in nasty weather.

I had a really solid week.  I'm incredibly sore today, but in a good way. Today is a rest day and I'm playing catch up at work (and doing some doc review while watching Sports Night).

Its going to be interesing to see how I do at Quassy this weekend.  No expectations, just curious.

Trying to upload a photo to this forum using iPad. I guess that don't work. It's not letting me select from my photo album, nor can I add it to my own personal photo album on BT. Anyone know how? Otherwise it'll have to wait until tmrw. I found the coolest bud light Tri bike. Not sure how aero it is though. Ha ha.

Morning!  I hope you all enjoyed the long weekend.  I see some great training in the logs.

I was up for an early morning swim.  I swam so hard that my abs, arms, shoulders, etc. are sore.  I love it when I am able to focus and give 100%.

I really enjoyed my weekend spent in the country.  I was able to ride pretty much uninterrupted with no traffic, lights, etc.  I did have a dog chase me down the road for 300 yds.  My HR spiked to 165 (I looked down at the Garmin after the dog ran off).  I think I yelled louder than I ever have, too.  Big, wild dogs chasing after me is a fear of mine.  My family seems to think I'm crazy.  They expressed their bewilderment over my training regimen, diet, etc. more times than I can count.  I don't even talk about triathlon with them, so that makes their unsolicited opinions ever more annoying.  My dad was an athlete in his younger years, and it sucks that he won't stick up for me.  Oh well, whatever.  They all slept until 9-10 a.m. while I was out hitting the roads, and I feel better, stronger, and healthier for my choices.

I am unable to hit my run workouts the way I'd like right now, so I really have to make my swim and bike time count, which is exactly what I've been doing.

Happy training, friends.
