pitt83 - 2012-06-26 11:21 AM What is this? Tragedy trump day?

I could always throw out the "c" word...

But honestly, I think about our good friend JD we lost, and realize, these are just small bumps.

Toof.

Oh and the wife lost her birth control pills!  I'm going to have to bag it up for a couple weeks BOOOOO!!!!

And the store is fresh out of magnum sized trojans.

I thought you guys were in baby-making mode, no?
And she can't get a replacement pack or just re-fill it early?

Yeah, she searched for 3-4 days.  Just needs to get more.  But they suggest using altenatives forms for 7 days.

We are not looking to make babies.  She just landed a movie part and getting into that new chapter of her career.  But if it happened on accident, I guess I could be cool wit dat.

I'm in an interesting spot in my career.  I don't need to "produce" to have worth.  Most of the time it's just know what to do when no ones else does.

Sort of like a fireman.  Sits on his/her arse 99% of the time, but when they DO work?  It's invaluable.  I'm not saying my work is dangerous, just saying that I can sort of coast most of the day, but show my value when it comes to difficult or needed experience.

Gone are the days I just needed to crank out sheet after sheet of plans!  YAY!

Who wants to hear about the start of my wonderful day?

I slog downstairs to start the coffee machine before jumping into the shower and I get  half way down and my eyes snap open because I smell...  I don't know - WATER.  I know water doesn't smell, but if you ever been in a flood, it does...  I'm like "o crap, this aint good"...

Step off the last stop onto the tile floor and *splash*  1/4" of standing water...

I rush into the downstairs bathroom and sometime during the night, the faucet O-ring blew and had a gyser of water shooting up hitting the ceiling like you see in all the old 3 stooges shows.

It's a disaster.  BUT, I keep thinking it could be worse.  It could have been when I was on vacation or on the second floor.

I will have to repaint the bathroom after retexturing the walls.  The water bubbled the paint.  Several are rugs are probably ruined.  I put them in the sun to dry, so maybe they will be ok and not stink, but who knows.  Some other things got waterlogged, but nothing too valuable.  I'm just glad I had my laptop on the steps instead of in the bag on the floor where I keep it sometimes...

So 2 hours of clean up this morning and hours and hours of repairs are in store for me.

Oof beware the mold!

You and your situation seriously came to mind this morning.

Good thing about that, it's hot and DRY here.  It's hard for mold to take root.  I peeled all the paint off that had water behind it and will leave the windows open for a couple hours.  It's already mid 90's and the house is probably already bone dry.  And the water was on the floor and just sprayed on the walls.  Not BEHIND the walls, thank god.

Cord. Tony knows more about bleach than you'll ever dream to know !

You mean Sodium Hypochlorite (NaClO) NFPA designation 2,0,1, ox.

When dissolved in water will slowly decompose liberating chlorine, Oxygen and sodium hydroxide.

The name brand Chlorox has a better purity and has less partuculate matter than most "off" brands.

A 10 % solution will kill just about any little buggy you have but it is not to be taken internally.

A 10% solution should be made up on a daily to weekly basis due to loosing potency due to oxidation.

anything else you want?

Barrett-Jackson killed the prices for muscle cars. Now everyone thinks their car is work 10k more than it really so the prices are stupid for the average cars.
