WHAT were they thinking?

Is that the 'unitesticle' version?

We prefer the term Uniballer....

Why do you think I'm posting on here? Its more intellectually stimulating.

There is a new job that popped up, though, that I may apply for. Its actually not IN this office but I would be located here, working for the same agency. And about a 10K bump in pay.

Plus, the two people making the hiring decision are friends of mine

Hope that works out for ya! Little extra pay always helps!

Thanks for the well wishes. They're appreciated.

I actually took a small pay cut to come out even with the cost of living adjustments. I was a GS-13 in MS but dropped back to a GS-12 here... the job in question is a GS-14; I would serve as a national expert on Financial Planning and Financial Constraint for transportation projects. Mostly research, lectures, tech assistance, etc. I can apply for it because I have the requisite one year minimum at the GS-13 level (I was a GS-13 for 7 years). Its not unusual for people to 'step back' in our agency to jump forward their career, especially if yours was stalled, as was mine in MS.

10K bump is sweet...first round's on you!

If I get it, most of it is going STRAIGHT into my retirement fund... we match $1 for $1 up to 15K a year or some outrageous figure like that. People who manage their federal system retirement,  we've got people on the new 401K style plan that are nearly millionaires with 20 years of service. I won't be, I'm a mid-career hire, but it beats the hell out of eating ramen noodles on what's going to be left of social security.

You're still buying the first round...

Sure. You ought to come out and guard the keg I'm buying for CIM, so Scout doesn't drink it all before I and elektra finish.

The way he ran that last mary.... he's gonna be 3 sheets by the time you all get there!

Sure, I'll guard the keg. Want me to watch the henhouse, too?

Something wintery and festive.

So long as it doesn't have the words Miller, Coors, or Budweiser, I'll probably be alright.

Rynamite - 2007-09-21 1:57 PM I'm thinking about running a 5K tomorrow morning. I haven't really ran consistently since June. Should I do it?

First you need to take your right hand, put it between your legs, and feel if you have balls still.  Next, take out your ID, and check the date of birth.  If it's before 21 September 1986, then you are an adult.

Yes, you should.  HTFU.
