Uh...if you're not having fun training...you might be in the wrong sport...

LazyMarathoner - 2008-09-17 10:02 PM I am so disappointed. I had a swim and run on the schedule today and then worked until 9 last night, was up til 1:30 and then am still working now so none of it got done. It's not going to get better this week so it's putting me even further behind Sorry team.

Sometimes we gotta work the long hours to pay the tri bills...

No worries.  Put in a good work week and train when you can...

well, I certainly won't anticipate any workouts now.. a few hours later and I have a sore throat

maybe I won't have a long weekend... or rather, it will be long in another way.

Get better...

Thanks for the wellwishes, teammies.

We were supposed to head off today to camp tonight and then vacation home the weekend... but instead dear hubby has taken the kids to the Aquarium and I'll rest up.  We'll see what can be salvaged.

At least my tri is the 27th so I'm coming up on a "rest week" anyway.  ARGH!

Ugh, another training day gone. I worked until 1am last night, started at 8 this morning and am still here Assuming I'm back on track tomorrow, I'll shift into makeup mode, but to be honest I feel like I'm running out of time. I am so sorry.

1300 yds swimming in the books.

Lazy,  You think anyone would notice if I did part of your training?  However,  I AM NOT wearing a bra.

If you swim in my suit and run in my hot pink singlet, maybe it would count!

5 mile run done. If I (a) don't work late; (b) feel up to it; or (c) resist the urge to go straight to the bar and get very drunk, I might get in a trainer ride later.HAPPY FRIDAY

I have a problem....I got injured (I think). I hurt my knee in a bike ride on Wednesday. I felt a sharp pain, almost a pop, but not really a pop. It's happened before and it only took a couple of days to get better. But it's been 2 days and I'm still having trouble putting pressure on that leg when my knee is bent (i.e. standing up from crouching or sitting).

What happens to these things when a teammate can't participate anymore? I'm going to try and get a workout i tomorrow morning, but I'm worried I'm going to be set more behind than I already am...

You can talk to Dee (D001) and she will let you know if you can change your challenge goal.  We don't want you to hurt yourself trying to do something you shouldn't.  If you hurt yourself, don't push it and do more than you should.  Being healthy is WAY more important than the challenge.

Ow ow ow. As Jen said:

The most important thing is your health. If you're injured, don't push it. (Despite my cattle prod-related threats, this really is just a challenge! It's not a life-or-death situation.)

Here are some options for you:

1) If you want to drop out completely, your goals can be removed from the spreadsheet. You get to stay on as the Official Team Post Padding Cheerleader. (Be forewarned that your team may ask you to wear a cheerleading outfit, and wave pom poms. But that's up to them. And if you choose to take pictures and post them in your team thread. Well, that's up to you. )

2) If you don't want to drop out but need some time to recover, we can prorate your goals. Take "time off" until you are better. (Do not rush it.) Then when you're ready to return, we can prorate your goals. For example, if you miss 15 days: (15 days participation/30 days = 50%), so your goals would be reset to 50% of their original value.
