8 mile MAF run. (where my MAF is 180 - age + 5). 1:10:46.

Also, even though I ate a banana and had a cup of coffee, between taking care of my morning "needs" and running 8 miles, I lost 2 pounds. So I'm not so bummed about the weight.

Had my half marathon this morning.  Was on target for a 1:40:00 through mile 7 when a huge hill kicked my a$$.  Lots of rolling hills on the course.  Admittedly probably went out a bit fast.  First time ever I really felt my hamstrings and hip flexors tightening up.  Tough few miles between 7.5 to 10.5.  Ended with a 1:44:43 which is a minute slower than my last race and far off my goal of 1:40:00. Last year I ran this race in about 2:01:00.  Definitely a tougher run than my half marathon in mid-April, but I think I have some good takeaways to digest for future races.

Going from 2:01 to 1:44 on the same race (so it's apples to apples) is HUGE. Good job.

Thanks Chris - looking forward to my Dr's visit on Monday - ankle is very sore now - really want to get a diagnosis so I know if I'm doing damage.

Way to go Mitch!  Nicely done!

13.94 mile bike ride for me today in 54:06.  It's nice to do soemthing resembling regular training again.  If I can get in a swim this afternoon that'll give me 3 runs, 3 bikes, and 3 swims for the week.

Mitch that is a huge improvement Apples to Apples!  Way To Go!!!!!

Went with Scott on this mornings ride.  Little concerned how I would hold up on the hills and another 1000 feet of elevation.  I was happy that not only did I make but I enjoyed pushing it.  HR was lower than I thought on the accents so I know I have a good deal of muscle strength that needs to be developed still.  Good news is my Tri on the 17th is a flat course!  13.9 miles

I enjoyed it to mile 7.5.  Then mile 12 was fun because I refused to be beat by a guy 15 pounds overweight with "Jagermeister" tattoo'ed across his upper back...

Continuing with the tradition, always the bridesmaid, never the bride, I took fourth at the Playtri Festival Triathlon today out of 24 dudes in my AG and 16th overall out of 263. I had a good race, evenly paced and well executed. Raced on my road bike because the tri bike is waiting for me in Boise, so maybe I could've done a bit better there but no regrets, I loved the day.

I will log the bike and the run (I added a mile warm down to go over thirty minutes), The swim was only 11 minutes so it won't count towards the challenge.

Lost a bit of weight but I don't pay attention to the day to day because of the hydration variations, bowel movements, etc. I trend it monthly.

@Mitch - Congratulations on the HM!

@Ernesto -Congrats on the 4th place finish! I suspect you have pretty fast dudes in your age group out that way!

Yesterday was an unscheduled rest day. I was just spent after a stressful week. Today 1:06:46 on the bike out on the lakefront. Beautiful but crowded.

Just catching up on the last week of forum messages.

Race report from Monday Captex Tri is up.

Gabe, I took 3rd (there were 4 of us).  My swimming sucks, but I'm going to be taking private lessons if the coach ever calls me.  I think my swimming is keeping me out of 1st.

Mitch, Joe and Andy, congrats on the challenge.  I didn't even finish updating my May workouts.  Very stressful month for me.

Mitch, great job on the HM.

Ernesto you rock.  4th in your age group is a major accomplishment.

I wasn't able to make it to the pool today before it closed, so I went out for a short run instead.  Now I'm glad for the run because my legs were pretty tight from the bout of running in the Five Fingers yesterday.  I'm looking forward to a swim in the morning though and no leg exercise at all tomorrow.  Today's run was 4.06 miles in 34:41.
