![]() | ![]() 8 mile MAF run. (where my MAF is 180 - age + 5). 1:10:46. Also, even though I ate a banana and had a cup of coffee, between taking care of my morning "needs" and running 8 miles, I lost 2 pounds. So I'm not so bummed about the weight. - Scott: S:1, B:2, R:1 Rest:0 Total:4 Total time: 3:13:45 - MatthewS: S 1 / B 2 / R 0/ Rest Days 0 ; Total = 3; 02:57'00" - Jennie P : S 0/ B 1/ R 2/ Rest Days 0; Total = 3 : 02:29'05 - Gabe : S 1 / B 1 / R 1/ Rest Days 0 ; Total = 3 ; 02:17'00" - MarkZ : S 0/B 1/R 1 Rest Days 0; Total = 2; 04:47':00" - Chris : S 0/ B 1/ R 1/ Rest Days 1; Total = 2; 3:30:29 - Barry : S 1 / B 0 / R 1/ Rest Days 0 ; Total = 2 ; 01:31'09" - Scott P : S 0/B 0/R 2/ Rest days 0; Total = 2; 1:04'26" - Ernesto : S 0 / B 1 / R 0/ Rest Days 1 ; Total = 1 ; 01:17'04" - JoeP : S 0/B 1/R 0/ Rest Day 1; Total = 1; 1:44'54" |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Had my half marathon this morning. Was on target for a 1:40:00 through mile 7 when a huge hill kicked my a$$. Lots of rolling hills on the course. Admittedly probably went out a bit fast. First time ever I really felt my hamstrings and hip flexors tightening up. Tough few miles between 7.5 to 10.5. Ended with a 1:44:43 which is a minute slower than my last race and far off my goal of 1:40:00. Last year I ran this race in about 2:01:00. Definitely a tougher run than my half marathon in mid-April, but I think I have some good takeaways to digest for future races. - Scott: S:1, B:2, R:1 Rest:0 Total:4 Total time: 3:13:45- MatthewS: S 1 / B 2 / R 0/ Rest Days 1 ; Total = 4; 02:57'00" - Jennie P : S 0/ B 1/ R 2/ Rest Days 0; Total = 3 : 02:29'05 - Gabe : S 1 / B 1 / R 1/ Rest Days 0 ; Total = 3 ; 02:17'00" - MarkZ : S 0/B 1/R 1 Rest Days 0; Total = 2; 04:47':00" - Chris : S 0/ B 1/ R 1/ Rest Days 1; Total = 2; 3:30:29 - Barry : S 1 / B 0 / R 1/ Rest Days 0 ; Total = 2 ; 01:31'09" - Scott P : S 0/B 0/R 2/ Rest days 0; Total = 2; 1:04'26" - Ernesto : S 0 / B 1 / R 0/ Rest Days 1 ; Total = 1 ; 01:17'04" - JoeP : S 0/B 1/R 0/ Rest Day 1; Total = 1; 1:44'54" - MItch : S 0 / B 0 / R 1 Rest Days 2 ; Total = 1 ; 1:44':43"

Regular ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Way to go Mitch! Nicely done! 13.94 mile bike ride for me today in 54:06. It's nice to do soemthing resembling regular training again. If I can get in a swim this afternoon that'll give me 3 runs, 3 bikes, and 3 swims for the week. - Scott: S:1, B:2, R:1 Rest:0 Total:4 Total time: 3:13:45 |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Mitch that is a huge improvement Apples to Apples! Way To Go!!!!!
Went with Scott on this mornings ride. Little concerned how I would hold up on the hills and another 1000 feet of elevation. I was happy that not only did I make but I enjoyed pushing it. HR was lower than I thought on the accents so I know I have a good deal of muscle strength that needs to be developed still. Good news is my Tri on the 17th is a flat course! 13.9 miles - Jennie P : S 0/ B 2/ R 2/ Rest Days 0; Total = 4 : 03:37'18" Edited by jenputnam 2012-06-03 1:43 PM |

Then mile 12 was fun because I refused to be beat by a guy 15 pounds overweight with "Jagermeister" tattoo'ed across his upper back... Edited by dangremond 2012-06-03 2:45 PM |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Continuing with the tradition, always the bridesmaid, never the bride, I took fourth at the Playtri Festival Triathlon today out of 24 dudes in my AG and 16th overall out of 263. I had a good race, evenly paced and well executed. Raced on my road bike because the tri bike is waiting for me in Boise, so maybe I could've done a bit better there but no regrets, I loved the day. I will log the bike and the run (I added a mile warm down to go over thirty minutes), The swim was only 11 minutes so it won't count towards the challenge. - Jennie P : S 0/ B 2/ R 2/ Rest Days 0; Total = 4 : 03:37'18"

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() @Mitch - Congratulations on the HM! @Ernesto -Congrats on the 4th place finish! I suspect you have pretty fast dudes in your age group out that way! Yesterday was an unscheduled rest day. I was just spent after a stressful week. Today 1:06:46 on the bike out on the lakefront. Beautiful but crowded. - Jennie P : S 0/ B 2/ R 2/ Rest Days 0; Total = 4 : 03:37'18"

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Just catching up on the last week of forum messages. Race report from Monday Captex Tri is up. Gabe, I took 3rd (there were 4 of us). My swimming sucks, but I'm going to be taking private lessons if the coach ever calls me. I think my swimming is keeping me out of 1st. Mitch, Joe and Andy, congrats on the challenge. I didn't even finish updating my May workouts. Very stressful month for me. Mitch, great job on the HM. Ernesto you rock. 4th in your age group is a major accomplishment.

Regular ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I wasn't able to make it to the pool today before it closed, so I went out for a short run instead. Now I'm glad for the run because my legs were pretty tight from the bout of running in the Five Fingers yesterday. I'm looking forward to a swim in the morning though and no leg exercise at all tomorrow. Today's run was 4.06 miles in 34:41. - Jennie P : S 0/ B 2/ R 2/ Rest Days 0; Total = 4 : 03:37'18" |
