My husband is off today, so I'm lucky I had the option to get everything done this a.m. We've been working like dogs trying to get this house ready to sell. I am really, really tired. Anyone have any words of wisdom about house showings? I feel like the thought of it all is really stressful with the 4 kids and training. I'm the opposite of Scott.....thinking I need to start logging food because my weight is trending upwards. Not that it matters that much, but I feel like I'm eating a lot more than I need to eat, so I probably ought to be a bit more strict at this point. I think tracking is always a good idea. My thought is just to start tracking qualitatively (e.g. jsut writing down what you eat and not worrying about calories, mcaros etc.) She how things trend and then adjust. |

Pro 4672 Nutmeg State | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2012 - CLOSED Had a pretty solid weekend. Decent rides on Saturday and Sunday and a solid run on Sunday. Ended up watching 8 or so episodes of Toddlers and Tiaras while I was on the trainer. I think I lost a few IQ points in the process. |

Agreed. I always tell folks to take 2 weeks when they first start tracking to look at their normal trends and then tinker. No sense in changing something without baseline data.
Oh and Toddlers and Tiaras is the best train wreck TV going. I CRINGE every time I watch, but it makes me feel like an exemplary parent. |

Regular 1779 Auckland, North Island | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2012 - CLOSED Hi guys, been a while since I've posted, but I've been lurking around. It's Tuesday down here, so weigh in day for me. Which has given me cause for a bit of a moan. Today's weight was 240.3lbs. That's up about 5lbs in the 2 weeks since we started the challenge. Now I know that I haven't been that good with my diet, On the weekend in particular... But 5 lbs seems a huge amount! The last time I did an online weightloss challenge the same thing happened, my weight went up week by week. So to combat this I'm re-starting calorie counting. Every time I've counted in the past my weight's dropped... it's a pain in the arse, but I think it's my best option at this point... Next week I'll be down I swear! Better news is that I've got my first try of the year on Sunday. Something I'm well looking forward too. It's a sprint, 500m swim, 17km bike and 5km run, and it was the first tri I ever did, last year. I'm not too sure how I'm going to go. I think I'm swimming, and biking faster than I was, but I know I'm running slower... so I think I'd be happy with about the same time as last year... Wish me luck! |

New Haven, CT | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2012 - CLOSED uhcoog - 2012-02-20 10:22 AMOh and I forgot. Had a discussion with Cindy about how much time I spend outside the house training so it appears that I'll be spending more time on the trainer and treadmill than I have been. Not overjoyed by this but I get it. Also the plan was to start trying to have a third kid this summer. She doesn't see my goal of IMTX 2013 and this as compatible, so it appears that IMTX is back on the table. Guess I should be thankful that she's voiced the concerns prior to paying for the event unlike my other friends' wives who are all of a sudden giving them hell about their training. Of course I was honest about the amount of time it would take and they may have fudged a little. Welcome back to reality my man... This is why I do what I do. You can't do it all and have it all. Frustrating, I know. |

Master 1832 Elgin, IL | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2012 - CLOSED Now that I am actually feeling lots better than last week, had an awesome leg workout!!! I don't remember the last time I had myself dripping in sweat!!! The next day is always a good indicator of how well the workout went, especially when starting to get back at it ... so I might be swearing at myself during my run tomorrow
Remember weigh in tomorrow |

Frustrating, I know.Well it's like I told her. Ironman will be there, and I don't want to be the old dad who can't get on the floor and play with his kids. SOOOOOOO we play it by ear. I've been very up front with what my training load will look like if she gives the green light. If she does, she does. If not I get it.
And until then I aim to rule the Oly scene here. Lots of speed work coming up. Edited by uhcoog 2012-02-20 2:36 PM |

You can, although the test should probably just confirm your current zones or result in a really small change. Since you were already in good shape when you started base phase, there should be much difference in the zones. What should happen is that the paces get faster (and the power gets higher) but the heart rates remain the same. |

I'm going to just keep track of what goes in my mouth and not worry about calories right now. I'm trying to cut down on sugar mostly. Toddlers & Tiaras.....bwahahaha. Try Dance Moms. It rivals Toddlers and Tiaras. Makes me feel like an exemplary parent, too |
