Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() - Jennie P : S 0/ B 2/ R 2/ Rest Days 0; Total = 4 : 03:37'18" Took today as a rest day after running the race yesterday. (Are we taking day after races as point days?) Legs felt tight this morning, so maybe I really was more tired than I thought. - Mitch- good job on the race. Huge improvement over last year. Don't compare your time from this race to that of the one in April. Totally different course. -Jackie & Ernesto- Congrats on your races as well. Lots of high fives all around. -Lynne- Welcome to the club! Feels great doesn't it? |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Lynne, Congrats! Great feeling, isn't it? My first was in February and I remember feeling "down" for a couple of days afterwards (post race blues). If you have the same, best way to get over it is to sign up for your next race and start training again. Soon you will be signing up for two races at a time and after that you can join TAA (Tri-Athletes Anonymus). So stand up and be proud when you say: HI, I am Lynne, and I am a tri-athlete. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() @Scott, with the awesomeness surrounding you, I'd be calling sick just to get more rides in... Work on your flaws, you already are an incredible runner, bring the other two to par. You're in the right place! @Lynne, welcome to this club of crazies. Officially a triathlete now! @Jackie, nice race chica, you would race even better if you trained though. @Scott (Michigan) the agreement for this month was to do away with anything that gave you extra points, the only thing that counts is workouts longer than 30 minutes, any shorter you have to skip it from the count. Also, there are four days of your choice to take off during the month of June. Edited by ernestov 2012-06-03 8:56 PM |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Time to catch up. Friday was a rest day went to the Henry Ford Museum for a field trip with my youngest two 3.5 hours one way on a school bus... I'd ran do hill repeats in sand. Saturday I was at my in-laws, so a long run seamed like a good call 10.59 miles in 1:46:23 I kept my heartrate average 13 beats under MAF. Drove home today then OWS swim 1.063 miles 30:31 the lake was a blistering 55 deg. - Jennie P : S 0/ B 2/ R 2/ Rest Days 0; Total = 4 : 03:37'18" |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I guess I'm back in the game. Taking it easy for the next few days, getting ready to head out for Alcatraz. Very excited about the race and trying to develop a game plan. Not sure if I want to go hard and try my best or enjoy the race at a more leisurely pace and soak it in. Going to try and a get a few workouts in today. Trying to function on minimal sleep last night, my wife and I got to see Roger Waters - The Wall Live down in St. Paul then drove home (2 hours) afterward. What an amazing show! If he's still coming near you and you were ever a fan I urge you to check it out. - MatthewS: S 2 / B 2 / R 1/ Rest Days 1 ; Total = 5; 04:17'00" - Jennie P : S 0/ B 2/ R 2/ Rest Days 0; Total = 4 : 03:37'18" - Scott: S:1, B:2, R:1 Rest:1 Total:4 Total time: 3:13:45 - Scott P : S 0/B 1/R 3/ Rest days 0; Total = 4; 2:33'18" - Gabe : S 1 / B 1 / R 1/ Rest Days 0 ; Total = 3 ; 02:17'00" - MarkZ : S 0/B 1/R 1 Rest Days 0; Total = 2; 04:47':00" - Chris : S 0/ B 1/ R 1/ Rest Days 1; Total = 2; 3:30:29 - Barry : S 1 / B 1 / R 1/ Rest Days 1 ; Total = 3 ; 02:37'55" - Ernesto : S 0 / B 2 / R 1/ Rest Days 1 ; Total = 3 ; 02:36'47" - Samyg: S 1 / B 1 / R 0 / Rest Days 1; Total = 2 ; 2:18'15 - JoeP : S 0/B 1/R 0/ Rest Day 1; Total = 1; 1:44'54" - MItch : S 0 / B 0 / R 1 Rest Days 2 ; Total = 1;1:44':43" - Jim: S 1/B 0 / R1 Rest Days 1: Total = 2: 2:16':54" - Andy S 0 / B 0 / R 2 Rest Days 1: Total = 2: 1:46':28' Edited by Climbinggonzo 2012-06-04 8:14 AM |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Congrats to all for some great achievements this weekend! I attended an OWS clinic and learnt a great deal but most importantly built some confidence in order to take me back for more. Also took the bike out for its first ride - awesome time - grinned ear to ear for the whole hour - sadly in my excitement I forgot to start the garmin. Cant wait to try it over the local tri course to see if I can best my PR of 52mins. - MatthewS: S 2 / B 2 / R 1/ Rest Days 1 ; Total = 5; 04:17'00" - Andy S 0 / B 0 / R 2 Rest Days 1: Total = 2: 1:46':28' - MarkH: S 1 / B 1 / R 0 / Rest Days 0; Total = 2 ; 1:40'00'' Apologies for the extra line feed - I am sure someone more clever will remove it :-) and show me how not to do it again! EDIT - added Andy in and some extra lines doh! Edited by markhodges1973 2012-06-04 8:15 AM |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Here's a couple helpful ideas for everyone that makes posting my data easier: In order to try and avoid two of us posting at the same time, I'll reply and just quickly add the data then post it. Then I'll go back and edit to add whatever I have to say about my workouts, that way the info and table is already there, updated and posted and I can take my time adding comments to it without worrying that someone else is posting at the same time. Also, just to make the math easier on my already fried brain, I use this time calculator that I found online - http://www.unitarium.com/time-calculator There you can enter your times and it adds it all up real nice and easy. Hope that helps everyone! |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Lynne, Jackie, Ernesto...Great weekend! I went to my first Masters Swim class this morning. Had a great experience and accomplished more than I normally do on my own. In fact, many of my workouts total around 1000meters and here my warm up was 850. Only downside was getting downtown by 5:15am!.. Total time was 1.5hours but I'm only accounting for an hour given the time it took to understand the workout and wall time and settling in to things. I'll update the forum with my time shortly. |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() @Mitch, congrats on a great time on your HM and a huge improvement vs. YA! I had a fun weekend catching up with my high school buddies at the beach, after neglecting them for the 6 months of my IM training. Today a 1 hr run and my HR is still high, but slowly coming down. - Jennie P : S 1/ B 2/ R 3/ Rest Days 0; Total = 6 : 05:07'18"

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Nice easy 2000 in the pool, mostly at an easy pace with some drills and about 600 worth of race pace effort. Hoping to get out on the bike for 30 minutes this afternoon, we'll see what the day brings.

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Race Report is up: http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=443933 Garmin File for race: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/185154104 Thanks to all for your congratulations. I conveyed to my wife that you guys made me feel better about my performance and she says, "you need people on a blog to tell you that you did well?". Yes, it's good to have folks who go through these daily challenges of work, family, life and training validate that at the end of the day you did well and should be proud. We should all know this ourselves but it's nice to have the group say, "Good Job!". Thanks Team! |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Wow, we've had some great results in the group this weekend! It's so good to see people getting out there and showing what their training has got them. Lynne - congrats on the first one. I look forward to reading the race report. They're really good to do as a reflection of what went well and also what you can work on. They're also really useful if you decide to do the same race again. I've used last years race reports to give me some ideas of this year's races... I'm updating since the beginning of the month. Short run on Friday before work and then it all went a little nuts. Saturday and Sunday landed up being rest days for a variety of reasons (mostly work related), but I spent plenty of time walking at work, and quite a bit of time running after people, so I figure I probably haven't lost too much training, especially when you consider the amount of extra weight I'm carrying at work. Long run today at MAF. Slightly slower than last week, but still an improvement on recent efforts, so I'm happy with it. We're currently in a 4-day weekend here in the UK to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. It made for the interesting time I had at work over the weekend, but also means that I have training partners on my days off during the week for a change, which is nice. We're planning a long ride for tomorrow, so fingers crossed the weather will hold for that. - Jennie P : S 1/ B 2/ R 3/ Rest Days 0; Total = 6 : 05:07'18" |
