uhcoog - 2012-05-30 9:35 AM 3k in the pool this morning.  I took some Benadryl from my stuffiness this morning.  Now I'm in a haze

Benadryl knocks me out cold.

It has never had that effect on me before today.

Went to the pool last night since I missed me Master swim class. I got in and just didn't feel right from the get go. Well about 1000 in I start to burp as get an acidic feeling in my chest and then it got unbearable and I stopped at 1300 really sucks because I still had 900 more to go! Anybody else get this feeling? Great Hill repeats on the bike this morning though so I feel better about that. I have swimming in the morning again so hopefully it doesn't pop back up.

Yes, all of it is way, way too expensive for my budget.  The clothes are great....just wish they were cheaper.  Family of 6 = discount clothing for mama

OMG - Chlorine always cleans out my sinus, and lately the pool has had so much chlorine the water glows.  I'm sure my aura has changed from red to blue.

I've been putting a couple squirts of saline up both nostrils before swims, and I've found it to help a little.

Here's the kit design (well the top).

I wanted white shorts but I've been informed that's a bad idea.  I'm thinking black shorts with blue stripes down the side and blue bands.  Thoughts?

Random aside the hedgehog's name is Eisel.

Agree with white shorts not a good idea.  Black with blue down the sides sounds much better.

Question on the top - is that the front or back?  If that's the front, what does the back look like?  (You should put the spiky hedgehog on the back.  He's cute!)

That's the front.  The back is a racer back.  I love the spiky hedgehog (Rudy says he looks like an aero helmet with a mohawk).

That looks sweet Kelly!

Since we are on apparel...I don' t have cycle top. I either use a compression UA top or my tri top to ride in since that is all I own right now. Do most of you have a specific cycle top you ride in? Also for the guys what shorts do you wear for you rides? I currently just have a pair of Campari under shorts and my tri bottoms that I can ride in. Suggestions appreciated, Thanks!

I have about 10 cycling tops that I rotate through. For shorts, I wear either my tri shorts (have 3-4) or cycle shorts/bibs. Just depends on what I grab that day. I do try to use my bibs or cycle shorts for longer rides since there's actual padding.

Oh, the Performance Bike shorts and bibs are pretty darn good for the price, FYI. I have their bibs and will be buying more (the ones with the green pad, not sure if they are elite or what).

I would go with a black panels in the center and white and blue colored panels from the middle of your quads and around to the center of the hammie.  Here's a set of bibs from PI that have the look I think you're looking for.  Of course you could replaces light blue arc with the stylized light blue hedge-hawk .

I liked the PI's design so much - I bought a pair.  The bibs will go nicely with my team colors.  I don't wear my team shorts during training rides.  Prefer bibs for 4-5 hour rides.  But I will be wearing my full '12 team kit this weekend.  Yeah, lets go racing.

Do people wear bibs for comfort?

I usually just ride in tri shorts and a tank top.  If it's cooler out, then I add layers.  I don't own a cycling jersey or any special clothing.  This is only my second year doing this, so I'm sure I'll accumulate some of that stuff over time.  I used to hate my Desoto 400 mile shorts, but I love them now, and I want to get another pair.

Why is it that I'm almost always in the last wave to go off in my races?  I was looking at race info this morning, and I have to check in my bike at 5:30-6, and my wave doesn't go off until 8:15.  Grr!!!!!

Yep.  They stay in place better since they run up over your shoulders.  Also they give you a little support through the midsection.  Oh and they cover your lower back so you don't get the tramp stamp sunburn.  I like bibs, but mine are too big for me and I don't want to spend the money for good ones right now.

Hour thirty of intervals on the trainer this morning.  I'm beat.

Haha.  That sucks.  There are all of 3 waves in my next race.  Men 39 and under, Men 40 and over, Everyone else.
