Got to watch some fast mofos this weekend at the Brooks PR event. Lots of pros there rooting on the high-schoolers, too including Desi Davila.

Brooks Hanson is actually starting an elite team here very shortly. They will be geared towards middle distance. That should be exciting! I don't know how that all works considering the brothers don't live here so, no clue who's actually heading that up. Anyway, I know that's lots of running jargon but I also know lots of people have been giving their marathon training a real look here on BT, so it's kind of tri relevant Smile

fast mofos?

I heart the blurry pics ... you can feel the speed!

Where's the pic of Desi? I know she's not our fave but I'm willing to entertain looks in lieu of personality.

Well, she was super boring. Just sitting there. She announced that she was dropping out of Boston recently (ish) due to injury still (from back at the Olympics) I'm not a huge fan of hers so there was no drooling. Plus I was too busy gawking at some others.

Over brunch.

My bro: "So, you seeing anyone?"

Me: "Seriously?!"

Bro: "What about the brain surgeon from Sydney?"

Me: "He's not a brain surgeon. Besides, we're waiting for his daughter to graduate high school."

My brother caught onto that daughter thing right away! He's smarter than he looks.

He also pointed out that having standards--I mentioned I kinda wanted smarts as well as personality--is serious folly on this island.

Me: "I'll settle for personality."

Bro: "I'm having that printed on a hundred T-shirts for your wedding."

Hahaha!

Sh*ts gonna get weird when you marry him, I hook up with the daughter ... mom?

AAAAAAAAAAAH

Make you unsay it

It's like I'm My Own Grandpa, but even more twisted, and yet strangely plausible.

I'm in a feisty mood today. I fogot my bra ...

Anyway, does that mean you and I have to get our business out of the way before you become my mom? I mean, that sounds reasonable right?

Aaaaaaand the Mana-men are frightened into silence again!  Laughing

I'm not sure whether to cry, ewww, or throw a party.

Hm. Maybe all three.

This is starting to sound like one of the newer episodes of Law & Order, except there's no body. Yet.

I'm sorry. I will tone it down.

Speaking of Law & Order, I see they are tackling the Rihanna/Chris Brown fiasco hahaha. Ripped from the headlines!

Nope. Sports bra would NOT work with what I am wearing. I really, really need to keep an extra at my desk. This is absurd.

I'm intrigued.

Well, hmmm  it's a dress with smaller straps so sorry but my bright blue sports bra is going to look out of control. I might be totally unaware but I don't think anyone notices ...

Speaking of! Holy ISH. My running buddies have been gone for the past two weeks and I have been running solo and without headphones now that I am getting into more race specific training. The comments people make!!! I'm not sure what it is about running but it seems to be an invitation for a sexual-harassment-comment free for all.

Not a bad idea. It would be the warning shot before the pepper spray. Wink

Asalzwed - 2013-02-26 2:19 AM Oh yeah! Also, this weekend we went to the Chinese restaurant I won the gift card to at my race and the lady who was dressed as the fork in the run was there and was our server! She informed me she would be dressed as a spoon in her next 5K. Haha!

And the fork ran away with the spoon!

cantstopraffing

Are you in NZ yet?

Lady, I haven't even packed yet.

You DO need a wife

Well, I usually have the Hobbit Maid.

Not "have" as in a wifely way. Just errr have her around.

Eeks, thanks for the clarification. You never know  "I'll settle for personality."

Well played.

Oh sad! One single gold star. How ill-fitting.

So funny, we had a long discussion about the term this weekend.

Care to share?

Ok assuming you know what I am talking about

Friend A: Gold star right here (raises roof)

Friend B: I don't see what the fuss is about. I don't think you should get a star for that, or anything golden for that matter

Friend A: What? Why? I'm proud of that

Friend B: I believe stars and gold should be earned by who has done more. There shouldn't be awards for those who have done less.

A silence goes over the group

Me: So, once you've boned a MtoF in the back of your parents station wagon, perhaps THEN you can get a gold star?

Friend B: Perhaps.
