Anyway... question for everyone: I think I have talked the DH into doing the RNR HM in Nashville on April 24th...but he also wanted to do one in Illinois on May 1...I think doing 2 with only a week between them is too much...Am I wrong? Actually racing both may be an issue but that is totally dependent on his run fitness. If that seems questionable I would run the first easy, as a sort of training run rather than a race. |

I was thinking of doing any Oly on Aug. 15 and a half marathon on Sept 6th. I'd like to do a full marathon but I don't know if I can do a full right after the Oly. Any thoughts? I have found I love running now, so I have 3 HM's on my schedule, I'd like to do a full marathon sometime in the near future. I thought of the last HM next year being a full, but I'm thinking of doing my full next January in AZ.Did any of that make sense?I see I'm also approaching 200 posts. Again, this really depends on your overall fitness level and how well you recover. I think you would be good to go for the half 3 weeks later. There would be plenty of recovery time there. Of course everyone is different. I did an Oly a week before my marathon, but I know I can recover from a hard Oly in just a couple of days. |

It was 7 miles. It is done. Guess I could have done that in about 7 posts but need to get going on today's errands. All for now. It was 7 miles. It is done. That's all that matters. Nice job getting it done! |

I'm always very inspired by the athletes who face issues like that and remain positive throughout. A friend-of-a-friend recently suffered a massive injury "over there" and suffered double above-the-knee amputation. Apparently his first two thoughts were as follows: 1) Get cleared by the docs to be allowed to return to be back with his men and 2) all the extra pull-ups he's going to be able to do now. "Loaning" those artifacts to your friend is a great idea. I'm sure it will do nothing but motivate him even more to get back out there. My thoughts and prayers are with him! |

I think I do a decent job of keeping things in perspective, but hearing stuff like that really makes me thankful for my health and for being surrounded by people who I love. BTW, nice job on your 5 miles. 55 definitely sounds better than 90. The weather channel says it's 78 here right now and there is virtually no wind as I get ready to go change and do my 3 miles. The traffic may suck down here, but I will NEVER complain about the weather in San Diego. |

I have no idea how many laps, I just swam. I was focusing more on form than distance. The Y was supposed to have 2 open lanes for free swim but they did not, so my husband and daughter played in my lane while I swam. I should lift weights yet today, we'll see how that goes. Tomorrow I have a 4-5 miler scheduled. It is still supposed to be cold and rainy but the weather is supposed to get better for the rest of the week then. Have a great evening! |
