How about we post once a week on Sat or Sunday?  If you are logging your workouts, BT keeps track of the times.  If we're curious, we can just look at everyone's log. All we need to know is who hasn't missed a workout.  So, I say once a week post if you're still in and what your total time is.

Having said that, 3 days down.

Total 2 hr 30 min 19 sec

Jackie,

I don't think that posting daily is part of the rules. I think we all just post whenever we want to. Some of us, like me, give an update every time we pick our nose (oh wait, that's Ryan Hall, not me. http://twitter.com/#!/ryanhall3/status/127206455781765120). But if you keep your log updated, I think it's ok to come in on December 1st and win the whole thing without posting in between. Your choice.

As for me.

Today: 1 hour on bike trainer in basement at 5:55 AM.

4 days, 2 hours, 10 minutes. Tomorrow I'll try a long ride, I'll probably suffer after such a long time off the bike...

I think I'm getting a Computrainer for the winter, easier than setting up to go for a ride with all the gear and clothing. Also, this weekend (on Sunday) I will try to sign up for Ironman Florida, it goes for sale at 12PM EST (11 here in the big D) and it usually sells out in less than ten minutes. It will be my third Ironman if I get to toe the line. Tongue out This doesn't void the plans to do France 2013 (or Mt Tremblant or St George).

Good luck this weekend to all of you on your training sessions, I hope you get to the holidays strong and fast.

Keep your number posted! This challenge is HOT and everybody seems to be focused!

What is the rule on workout and points for day before and day after races?  I'm thinking of racing through the time change at 1:50 AM on Sunday.

4 days: 4h 36m 01s  Today was long slow run.  It was long and it was slow.

Hola,

I just arrived back in Guatemala a few hours ago and went straight home to get my late night indoor bike workout (it really helps having the group support along with the daily reporting, in order to not to miss your daily workout!)

Today: 12 mile indoor bike training - 00:40:00

Ernesto - wondering if I can piggy back off any research you did on the computrainer.  I have a Kurt Kinetic trainer and it works great.  I'm thinking of getting some form of a pwoermeter for my bike in the next year to train/race with.  I was wondering if you have a powermeter today and/or did a cost/benefit analysis between a standard fluid trainer and a power meter versus the computrainer.  I have a friend who loves his computrainer - leaving me trying to figure out how best to spend my dollars.

Another gear question - has anyone checked the Garmin 910xt - I think I have some serious lust for it and am thinking of buying.

I wish I could have held out for the 910xt but my 410 gave up the ghost (my fault for swimming excessively in it). I can tell you that the 610 is a huge improvement in gps performance (locking in on a signal and accuracy) and the battery life gets me through 8 hours of exercise or 2-3 weeks of standby. I'm pretty sure the 910 builds on the 610 with the swimming added.

Today, 8 mile run, 1:10:56

Total: 5 days, 5 hours 30 minutes.

So Saturday mornings is when my wife and I run with the run club associated with our fitness club. Usually it meets at 8 AM but today they had a special "Yoga for runners" event at 7 AM. Yoga is hard. Some of the women, like my wife, do it regularly and twist themselves into pretzels and do all these poses effortlessly. Not so me.

Second issue for me is that it is well known that aerobic exercise makes you hungry. That's physiological. But for me it also creates a huge sense of entitlement as in "I biked an hour this morning. I can eat half a 14" pizza." Which is basically what I did last night. I'm exercising a lot and simultaneously gaining weight.

The Computrainer has downloadable courses (almost all the Ironman courses) and lots of intervals. It measures power output and many other features. The most important one is the it is the least boring of all trainers since the screen is real video shot at the courses and the resistance of the trainer is exactly that of the course, climbs, even changes in terrain.

A lot of pros have switched to their Computrainers and swear by it, some like Andy Potts has completely abandoned outside training (which I believe is crazy). The guy that sells them here in Dallas has an cycling improvement guarantee of some sort, but I don'e know exactly.

You get a special credit for any race longer than a 5k. You can take a day off before and one after but the minutes don't add up (except for the race time). Therefore if you raced a half mary in 2 hours you get three days and two hours.

Thanks - the downloaded courses sounds like a great feature allowing you to really train to the course.  Funny how expensive our sport can get - Wife and I just bought a treadmill today so she can workout while little one napping and I can workout early in the winter or when inclement weather without dragging myself to gym.  Would love to get a powermeter but other necessities like wetsuit, etc. prob should come first.  Good luck with your computrainer!

Well, weekend is over and so far my result is: 6 days (7':56"). So far so good. We will be travelling to Colombia at the end of the month to visit my wife's family so my consistency will go down the drain, but that's at the end of the month.

Today rode the bike to the running club and did a hilly 10.8k run with them followed by a ride home. Hope you guys are all having a great weekend!

Today: 10x400M intervals at 5K pace; 00:51:11

Totals: 6 days; 04:33:05'

Nothing like dragging your butt to the track in 30 degree weather to run intervals at 5:30am. Amazingly saw either a homeless person or local resident going through the trash for cans at that hour of the morning - bit unsettling coming upon someone doing something other than running at that time of the morning.  I guess it's a sign of the times.
