Just got done teaching for the day.  Now on to meetings!

128.8.  Not much of a change, but going in the right direction.

question......Do you alter your workout today if you are super, duper sore from yesterday's workout?  I want to know what you all do.

My legs are spent.  Bad.  If they feel this way in the morning, should I HTFU and proceed with the mid distance run I have scheduled?  Or do I skip the run and just do the swim?

I, and I'm dumb just ask Cindy, would start the run and see how my legs responded before ditching or continuing.

I'm not very bright and I would do the run. Or at least attempt it. But, probably better to let your body rest.

I had the same problem today from yesterday's leg workout (I might have been a little overzealous). I ran my 35 of the 50 minutes then walked the rest. HR was up to 170 ... Need to gear down the leg strengthening a little

Thank you for the thoughts and feedback.  I woke up feeling 85% better, so I went ahead with the run.  Felt ok.  I'm swimming tonight, and that always stretches and loosens things up a bit.  I'm basically just sucking it up until Friday's rest day.  LOL  Of course, I'll still be on my feet all day, cleaning and packing up this joint.

Jen - a good plan should never have you doing hard workouts back-to-back.  This is particularly true regarding run workouts.  thus if you just did a super hard bike WO yesterday, you should not be doing speed work the on the  run.  hard workouts should typically occur after a rest day or an easy day.

It sounds, however, like you are just dragging.  HTFU.

You know what makes the biggest difference: training lots and consistently.  SHOCKER. But kelly already knows that.

I've done lots of bricks and few bricks.  Lots of training works better.

I did do a hard bike workout yesterday, and that's probably why I felt like azz.  My plan called for 6 x 35 seconds at 10k pace and 8 easy miles today.  I thought that was ok, considering it wasn't an all out tempo run or anything, so I did the fartleks.  But...yes, I'm dragging in general lately

AWESOME run today.  Looking down at mile 8 while just kind of cruising and seeing 7:34/mile made me happy.  Also made me recheck my watch like ten times over the next 2 miles to make sure it was correct.

Dang, I wish my cruise pace was 7:34/mile.

I had a great run today too.  And I was happy to see my overall average pace was 10:35/mile.

I attribute all my recent gains to reintroducing speed work and training with folks who are faster than me.

That's awesome Scott.  I was there last fall, until I got sidelined.  I actually ran for the first time last night in a long time.  Technically I am cleared next monday, but I just ran on the treadmill at a 10:00 pace.  I cant beleive how much I actually felt how tough it was.  I've been pretty much biking up to surgery, and limited biking the past 6 weeks, but I wouldn't have expected to lose so much run fitness.  I have a ton to catch up on.

Oh, the Zoot TT's I bought, i think are the best shoe I've ever run in.  Not that I have a ton of expereince with different shoes, but they feel so good, and light!

Your run fitness will come back man, and you'll have the extra bike fitness.  I'd be worried about swimming.
