Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() jarvy01 - 2012-05-31 5:37 AM Bibs aren't for cool weather, just a differnet fit/comfort. Unless you are thinking of the knicker style ones, with legs below the knees. Do people wear bibs for comfort? I usually just ride in tri shorts and a tank top. If it's cooler out, then I add layers. I don't own a cycling jersey or any special clothing. This is only my second year doing this, so I'm sure I'll accumulate some of that stuff over time. I used to hate my Desoto 400 mile shorts, but I love them now, and I want to get another pair. |

I was looking at race info this morning, and I have to check in my bike at 5:30-6, and my wave doesn't go off until 8:15. Grr!!!!! Haha. That sucks. There are all of 3 waves in my next race. Men 39 and under, Men 40 and over, Everyone else. See.....I love how the women get a clumped together in the "everyone else" wave. For this race I'm doing, it's 70.3 waves, sprint waves, and then olympic waves, with the women (again, all clumped together) in the very last wave. Nice. * edited to add that it's not the waiting around that bugs me....it's the catching up to the waves in front of me....dodging around the people who are floating on their backs or scrambling for kayaks. Now you know how really fast Clydesdales usually feel when they start shotgun on the whole field, not only do we get the problem in the swim, we get it all bike long also. running is never a problem, except the snerky comments about "great bike"

2 week taper for 1/2 Im seems like alot
Next week is more like a recovery week and I'll do about 70% of the volume of this week. Probably 75% for swim and bike and 60% run. The week after will be the the true taper. I'm considering it a two week taper mentally to get through these last few workouts. |

Thanks..............ready to taper. 2 week taper for 1/2 Im seems like alot If the HIM is the A race, its totally approrpiate. Usually 70-80% volume week 1 and then a huge drop off week 2. When training for IMs most people use HIMs as tests or training races so there's no real taper, but when its the A race there should be a pretty decent taper. |
