I am tired off of my rocker. I have been getting 4-5 hours of sleep a night this week. That is not nearly enough!

Sunglasses hide closed eyes while you nap. Just don't drool on the electronics.

Seriously, sleep is not a luxury, it is a necessity.

I was going to take Keri to watch a softball game tonight an hour away. Her team will play the winner in the finals. It doesn't start until 6:30, they play an hour and a half games, so we aren't home until 9:00 or later. Which means I don't get to bed until 9:30 at the absolute earliest, and that gives me no time to unwind. I just don't think I can do it. Tonight is the night to set up for the fireman's carnival, too. She can go help do that, she'll have fun. I can have some peace and quiet then.

I have to run and get  my car tuned up this am. It is going to be HOT again today. I wish I could get up early and work out. I just like to loll around in the morning with coffee. sigh.

Almost time for the quit work siren. I was absolutely lazy today. Hopefully I'll at least take the dog for a long walk. If the rain holds off after dinner.

Tomorrow will be packing up for 24-hours of Booty before going out for live music. I HAVE to get my long run in tomorrow. Good thing it isn't too long  of a long run, yet.

This weekend should be tons of fun. Friday all night and most of Saturday I'll be volunteering at 24 Hours of Booty ride which is an amazing event. Last year was so dang inspiring, I am sure I have never been to an event that brought to light the effects of cancer and people's determination to kick its azz. If I am very good, I'll get to ride some miles on the loop and best of all, I'll get to see Marla and family. Sunday will be an OWS and the ride for the Lake Lure tri. If I can do the ride without it absolutely killing me, I'll sign up for the race. Hills suck the life out of me and this course is "hilly" (read mountainous).

I talked my Mom into cooking dinner tonight so all I have to do is set the table, make a salad and clean up. Nice.

Happy Hump Day evening, Ghoules.

Did you hear it? Last night, just before 7:00, did you hear the giant fall?

Keri's softball team beat her old team, who was undefeated on the season, and had beat her team twice this year, and the top ranked team, 6-2 in the semi-finals of the league championship tournament! Keri played a great game throwing out 2 runners at third, walking twice, getting a hit, and scoring a run. Our girls WANTED to win that game. Our pitcher went out and was on fire, she just kept sitting them down in order. Our girls were scoring, while they were striking out and you could see our girls get even more pumped while they deflated quickly. By the 5th and final inning, where they scored their 2 it didn't even matter because there is a 5 run rule and at that point they couldn't win. I don't think I've stopped smiling since last night.

I had less than 4 hours sleep last night because I was so pumped about Keri's game, and in other sporting news Caleb played basketball all day yesterday. He saw the trainer who told him it would be okay if he sat out this week, the decision was his. Caleb played ball.

Donnie went to watch their 5v5 games last night, and pick the boy up while I was at the softball game. He said Caleb played hard and was smiling the whole time. He was rebounding, he was shooting, he was having fun. He played a team that had not only 1 of his teammates on it but the kid is without a doubt the best player on Caleb's school team. Donnie said Caleb hung right in there with him fighting him for rebounds and even blocking one of his shots. He said both boys were smiling and talking to each other during the game, but they were playing hard.

So can someone please wake me up in time to go home so I can continue my nap there?

Oh... and Keri's championship game is next Tuesday night at 8:30 under the lights. Why would you schedule a game for 10 year olds at 8:30 at night? :-/

Wonderful news for both kids.

Melissa - awesome on the "man " front.  and we all know you are a great Dr.

Robin - get up and get moving girl.

Ann - you need to get some sleep.  And, no one has to like you for you to get security clearance, right?  You just can't be a criminal.  Besides, the people who matter like you! (Ghoulies!)

Dee - I know she is off on a fantastic vacation.

Spent the last two days teaching training classes.  They are fun, but I'm glad they are done.  Tomorrow I'm off, but I have to clean the house, have an appointment at 10, and then  lunch date with friends.  No news on the job front.  I'm going to start acting like I did not get it, and maybe I'll be surprised at a later date.  Told hubby to get on the Intranet and see if they are interviewing anyone else.  Anyway, I think I have convinced myself that they are not going to offer enough money.

Saturday I drive to Mississippi, meet my daughter and will bring back the two older grandsons for the week.  Then the following weekend, we will drive to TX to visit the whole family.  August in Texas.  We are NUTS!!  So the next two weeks will be pretty busy.  Only working 3 days next week and then I'm off for 10 days.  I'm so ready!

Good morning Ghoulies!

Got to bed at what I thought was a reasonable time last night, but Milo decided to be up all night barking. I have a horrible headache today, and I am on the move all day.

When I leave work I'm running home to grab Keri then it's off to basketball camp to watch championship games and awards ceremonies and pick up Caleb. When we get home we will have time to change and then I have to take Keri to softball practice from 6-8. After that we are stopping by the carnival on the way home, fortunately the carnival is small. I will probably leave her there because she wants to spend the night at grandma's. I'm hoping to be home by 9 but I'm not counting on it.

Enjoy your lunch with friends. Don't waste too much time cleaning house. You are gonna have kids in the house to help get it all dirty again. You are indeed nuts to be in Tx in August, but you will be with family so it will be fun, fun, fun.

You will get the job. It takes organizations weeks to go through the process of hiring a person. You WILL get it!

YAWN!

You need some ear plugs and eye mask for sleeping. I found some (since lost) that were wonderful. They blocked out most of the noise, not all and were hardly noticeable in my ear. They were for swimming and were perfect for cutting out enough of the sound that I could sleep, without panicking that I would miss something important. An eye mask is helpful to keep me from staring at the ceiling trying to go to sleep. Nothing you can do about a 150+ pound dog barking, though.

Thanks, but with having 2 kiddos in the house I don't think I could sleep with earplugs in. I don't lie there staring at the ceiling either, I have my eyes closed. I want to sleep. I try to sleep. The universe just doesn't approve of my actions though.

I'm going to assume that was am and not pm? Sounds like you need a bop on the head before bed!

Beeeeeeeep!

That was the get off work alarm. I am mostly packed up for tomorrow. I hit the road at 7:00 to meet up and start volunteering at 9:00 am. Hopefully I'll get to ride in the evening and night time. (I just installed my new light for just that purpose).

I'll get home late on Saturday and Sunday meet at 7:00 for an OWS and bike ride. My running is suffering but my biking is getting better. Which can't hurt. I suck on the bike

Have fabulous weekends!

Happy Monday Ghoulies!

I didn't even attempt BT on Friday. Though, I saw other folks mentioning issues and I had a hard time yesterday loading up my activities.

I had a GREAT weekend. I left early for Charlotte and the 24 hours of Booty ride. I volunteered from 9 am to about 6 pm with Marla (BTer and one of our mentees a couple of years ago). We set up our tent then got on our bikes and rode a few loops at the start of the ridel  The event is fantastic. EVERYONE has a story. Either they are there because they are a survivor, a friend or relative had or has cancer or they are on a team raising money to kick cancers azz. I rode till about 11:00 pm then crashed. I was going to ride some more at night, because it is just plain fun, but I dozed instead. Got up early and helped out a bit then rode until the rain came. I knew it would clear up, but home was calling. Yesterday I got up early and swam and rode the bike with a friend here in LL. She is a newby 50+ years old and just discovered tri. She is going to do her first one here at the olympiad. She is so enthusiastic it is fun to be around her. I have to say, after spending the weekend with folks who are in the process of losing their loved ones, or just did lose a loved one, I realize I complain way too much about things. I need to just enjoy what I have and buck up and do what I set out to do.

Yesterday afternoon, we went to a winery (not a very good one, we won't be back) then took my Mom to our favorite local brewery. Jim and she split a flight of beer. Sushi for dinner and early to bed! Nice, nice weekend.

This am, I have to run to the docs office then I need to get into the yard to do some chores. The deer hit and everything, I mean everything is chewed to the ground!

Vermin!
