LazyMarathoner - 2008-10-27 2:56 PM Well, she's finally home and she's finally mine! My new P2C. I'm still waiting on the bottle cage I wanted and the wireless computer, but otherwise it's good to go. You'll have to ignore the orange back tire, it's a Conti Biketrainer tire that i have to use indoors to keep my road tire from getting trashed. Since it's indoor only for now, I had them go ahead and put it on. The mechanic ended up using silver cables throughout, which I love. Can't wait to ride it!

Consider the orange tire as getting it dressed up for Halloween.

tlnewman30 - 2008-10-27 4:25 PM So I might starve to death this week since Laura will be out of town.  Guess that means I will need to actually take care of myself.  This could be a long week.

Pizza Hut delivers.

True, but there isn't any close to the base.  I foresee lots of subway.

Campbell's soup?

I am just missing so much post padding activity... ARGGGHHH!

Congrats on everybody to reach their goal or being very close to their goal! GO DARK ARTS!

Happy new bike day to Kristen and hopefully your lungs stay where they are supposed to and you are feeling better soon!!!

Congrats to the 5K Travis... That is awesome just days after your marathon... But please rethink your choice not to cook! ;-) One week of Subway doesn't sound like a balanced meal plan.

Dark Arts notes – Volume 9

Phil (1stTimeTri)-  Does NOT like candy corn!  He went trick or treating with his kidlets in spite of wind advisories, what a trooper!  (plus someone needs to make sure that the candy doesn’t blow away – lol)

Steve (AccidentalChef)-  no in person updates, but he’s getting in some good runs -

Melissa (BunnyB) – sadly for her had to end her time in paradise, she must be recovering from re-entering reality

Emily (esc) –  had a busy weekend, but still managed to get a run in and is over 100% of her goal!  WTG!

Cat (kaqphin)- had a great weekend and walked a lot at the zoo!  She’s at 179% of her challenge goal (think any of the other teams will challenge that?  Nah!)  She had an awesome reunion with her HS friend.

Kendra (kns57)- still in Ohio, we should hear from her tomorrow

Beth (lastcall2003)- Finally got off of her azz and got a nice wralk in!  There are some nice pics in her blog (or I guess I could post them in the thread……….)

Matt (mdb) – recovering from another wedding – I don’t think it was his – lol!

Judi (QueenZipp) – Accidently put her HRM strap in the dryer – oops!  Has it come back to life?  She’s looking for long bike pants – any advice?  And in case you were wondering what is on top of the frog’s head in her sassy new avatar, it’s a slug (ewwww!)

Kathrin (ratkat) – Loves Monday TOPPAGE!  Her time in Bavaria is seriously cutting into her post padding!

Travis (tlnewman)- Raced a 5k just a week after his Mary, AND it was a PR – in the post race interview Travis says

Yeah, I am a freak like that
.  Travis is on his own this week and may starve to death – or eat lots of subway since there is no pizza hut close to the base. shhhhh don’t let it out that he said this
Actually, truth be told I can cook, I just chose not to.

Sharon (zeefraugtries) –  still trucking along and getting in some T.I.T.S.

Kristin (LazyMarathoner) – Raced on Sunday even though she was coughing and hacking along the way.  Ummm maybe trying to post on the crackberry while running the race caused the extra zig zag mileage?  It was a PR as well, can you imagine what she could have done if she had be at 100%? (maybe it was the hot marines that kept her going fast )  - ps, there are some great pics in her album! (oh, and did you check out her new bike?)

I am an incredible cook, but pretty much stopped when I started training for tris so I, too, choose not to. I feel like it's a time luxury thing and I just don't have the time. My husband cooked for me a lot while I trained so I'm really going to miss that. I'm guessing the neighborhood takeout places are going to get to know me really well!

I changed my avatar for running season. According to the challenge last month, I think the losers (um, me) were supposed to keep the losing avatar up for the month, but I noticed that my teammates have switched to new ones so I did as well. I'm already happier seeing myself run rather than have that stupid sling on as a reminder of my last few months.

Basically Kristen uses them and Im thinking they might be worth trying to see if they help with my lower leg issues with running...

Although I might try the cheap version first...

Just got in 4.22 on a combo of the tready and elliptical. All felt fine, no residual pain from yesterday. I'm just over 91% of goal and have another 10 miles planned this week which will put me slightly over 100% if I get it all in!
