Heat index hovered around 90 all week. This morning was 55! 1 hour deep tissue (well as much as I could stand) massage focused on legs, lower back, and glutes. Ooooouucch! my calves hurt so bad I can hardly walk! Nice job on the fiver! I think we're going to warm up to 55 tomorrow. Veritable heat wave moving in! |

The loop around the neighborhood is a nice little run, but that 4% 1/2 mile hill right at mile 2 kicks my butt every time. Nice work Tom! That hill sounds......uh.......fun. Yeah, fun. Let's go with that. |

I have no idea how many laps, I just swam. I was focusing more on form than distance. The Y was supposed to have 2 open lanes for free swim but they did not, so my husband and daughter played in my lane while I swam. I should lift weights yet today, we'll see how that goes. Tomorrow I have a 4-5 miler scheduled. It is still supposed to be cold and rainy but the weather is supposed to get better for the rest of the week then. Have a great evening! Congrats on another pink star! |

TO LIFE WELL LIVED. stacieb To life lived well indeed. That is a really great story, and I look forward to hearing more as he reaches his goal. I'm always very inspired by the athletes who face issues like that and remain positive throughout. A friend-of-a-friend recently suffered a massive injury "over there" and suffered double above-the-knee amputation. Apparently his first two thoughts were as follows: 1) Get cleared by the docs to be allowed to return to be back with his men and 2) all the extra pull-ups he's going to be able to do now. "Loaning" those artifacts to your friend is a great idea. I'm sure it will do nothing but motivate him even more to get back out there. My thoughts and prayers are with him! I love stories like that. Kinda puts my whiney-assed complaints into perspective. x2 on that. I think I do a decent job of keeping things in perspective, but hearing stuff like that really makes me thankful for my health and for being surrounded by people who I love. BTW, nice job on your 5 miles. 55 definitely sounds better than 90. The weather channel says it's 78 here right now and there is virtually no wind as I get ready to go change and do my 3 miles. The traffic may suck down here, but I will NEVER complain about the weather in San Diego. I'll take your weather anyday! But yes your traffic does suck! (hubby and I get to visit San Diego every yr. for his schooling) |
