Did my bike LT test tonight, well late afternoon.  I finaly have proper HR zones to work with, althought my estimate was pretty close.   Unfortunately I had to use manual RPM count to maintain my speed.  I don't have speedometer or power meter yet so had to do it the old fashion way.  It was good because I was able to maintain constant RPM (103) on same gear for entire 30 minutes (checked about every 2-4 minutes).  I did try to jump one more gear for a couple minutes before my last 20 minutes but knew that I would have not been able to maintain for the duration.

One question:  I saw it somewhere but can't remember, how do I number my gears.  I have three in Big and 8 in small.  I was on biggest ring on big and and third biggest on small.  I'll keep searching, but just wanted to share my first test.

cheers,

GrapeJuice - 2011-01-17 11:24 AM OK I have a question for those out there that wear contacts, when racing do you swim with them in? I don't know what to do? a pool swim is fine with no contacts but OWS I wont be able to see in the distance to well to identify buoys and such?

I don't wear them, but Ryan does.  He always uses his for OWS or pool swims.  As a matter of fact, he hardly ever wears glasses!  He seems to do just fine with them in for his swims though!

Ok, many of you know what many of our spouses look like.  Erica, you mention your spouse more than Tony does so I think we need a look see at the two of you.....I am sure several people are thinkin the same thing, but only I have the guts to type it.  Who is this Ryan you speak of????

Haha, we're still pretty much newlyweds, so we aren't sick of each other yet!  We spend wayyy too much time together and train together, so that's probably why I talk about him too much.  Without further ado...

OK...I'd say lose the dog for the avatar.  He is cute, but you could seriously upgrade the avatar even if you did include RYAN in it.

SSMinnow - 2011-01-17 2:51 PM HEY CT PEOPLE! I'M DESPERATE.....I had an issue with my Multi Rider III software today so I uninstalled it thinking I could just reinstall it from the disk or website.  NOPE!    Can someone send me the link to the software so I can download it?????  Doing today's ride in ME from memory wasn't bad, but the rest of the week is filled with MRC rides. ARGH!

Sent you a link via email...

Use this calculator and enter your teeth counts from your front and rear cogs and it will give you more information that you could ever want:  http://www.sheldonbrown.com/gears/

I did my LT test tonight also.  Not very happy with my results but it means that I get to ride at lower numbers for the next 6 weeks during intervals (looking for the upside Yell).  But I also feel like I must have been a slacker for the last 6 weeks.

Now off to move more snow.....

Just to add some support...I also always where mine.  If something happened that I lost them, I could probably ride with 1 in but never if I lost both.  I actually have lost one while riding - with sunglasses on - so I am more worried about losing one on the bike, not the swim.

Erica--THANKS so much for sharing.  LOVE the pic.  I didn't say you talked too much about him, but I like to put a name with a face....next step will be hooking up at some race since we live so close to each other!

Dineen--are you sure you didn't just have an off night and should retest in a week?  Seriously, your bike number have been great lately.  You said yourself you have not been feeling great and your daughter's sick....maybe you have the same bug lurking!?!

Twin-post the pics!!!  Glad you two connected up and had fun.  Congrats on living in San Fran and finally getting outside!

RP--THANK YOU!

Excelent! thanks.

I believe my numbers might be skewed.  I now have a fever.  Originaly thought the body aches were from hockey last night...guess not.

I have completed my 2nd transition yesterday. The workout consisted of a 45mile bike ride I did 46.12 with a 15min transition run I did it in 15:38 distance was 2.17miles moderate pace. I am a little worried about the pace which was 7:12min miles I really feel that is to fast especially after the ride. Once I got my legs into a rhythm which was about 200yds or so I just couldn't stop it was like they had their own mind.

So what all of you do to slow down so you are not dogging it at the end of the run section.

Hahaha!  I will change my avatar once I have a GOOD race pic.  I've lost 20+ pounds this season, and 10+ since that picture was taken in October, so no race pics I'm proud of yet!  Until then, Nadie will have to do because she is my training buddy!

No school today in your neck of the woods, huh?

We are getting a little bit of freezing rain up here but not enough to close the schools.  30 miles east of us, everything is shut down.

Nice Pic!

We are getting a little bit of freezing rain up here but not enough to close the schools.  30 miles east of us, everything is shut down.

Nice Pic!

Most schools are closed today around Baltimore and DC, temps will be over freezing in a few hours.  I ran on the treadmill this morning : )

Am I the only person with this problem?  When I get busy I forget to eat.  Yes I know that sounds strange, but it's true.  And once I get to a certain point I don't feel hungry so I continue not to eat.   Now here I am 3 days later with a total of 5 meals in me and I feel like crap!   DAMN ME, I KNOW BETTER THAN THIS.
