Nicole83 - 2010-10-12 1:28 PM So is it too early to start thinking about what we're all doing for the weekend?

My favorite bar is having an Octoberfest event on Friday and Saturday and I'm super excited.

Friday is pizza and game night with a friend that I haven't seen in over a month because she had a major cardiac arrest event...long crazy story...she's only 24!!

Saturday is checking out houses to have my wedding at!!  And tasting barbecue for the wedding.  And Howl O Scream at Busch Gardens.

Sunday I'm fixing my toilet and bathroom floor once and for all.

I'm lame.

I'll be in NYC this weekend.  Going out for drinks with a cousin of mine who happens to be an incredible (Olympic) swimmer...  hopefully I can pick up tips through osmosis  :P

Other than that, Terry Fox Run in Central Park on Saturday, and taking in all that is NYC.  Can't wait.

I will probably spend some time working on rowing in the dock boxes (boat mock ups that sit on the dock with oars with holes in them so you can practice oar handling) and go kayaking on Sun.  Other than that I may be a bum.

I went rowing this weekend.  That gave me a whole new appreciation for what rowers do.  That is super hard!  Turns out I am not as coordinated as I thought.

Those people that do team rowing are beefy...  save the tiny person with the blow horn at the bow!

Yep we will be rowing an 8 man shell this evening it should be interesting since we are all beginners.  I fully expect to get rather wet tonight.  And yes the cox are tiny.

Yea, and you have to be super balanced, too.  I don't really know about team rowing, but I could barely sit up straight.  and trying to get the oars past each other on each stroke, that was TOUGH!

You and hubby should come over to Brass Tap Saturday night.  It's supposed to be a sloshing good time.

That is a possibility, DH might like to do that.

Cool, let me know.  I think we will have a small group going over, so we won't be hard to find.

Howl O Scream is AMAZING.  They have people in costume running around the park, jumping out of trees, they turn about 4 or 5 rides into REALLY GOOD haunted houses.  And they don't turn the lights on the roller coasters at night...Alpengeist is FREAKY in the dark!!

It's really bizarre and I still don't know the whole story.  Pretty sure she's tired of talking about it by now!  Her doctors called her recovery (the fact that she's even out of the hospital 5 weeks later) a miracle.

Sweep rowing you only have 1 oar not two, the movement is a little different and the oars are much longer.  Also you have multiple people in the boat eg. 8 person shell or a 4 person shell.   I used to just lump them together too till I started.

Nice.  I've been to Cedar Point and Canada's Wonderland (both owned by Cedar Fair) for their Halloween things.  Both are very well done.  I liked them because the people weren't jumping out of ANYWHERE.  They had sections that were fair game, but if you were a pansy (like Nicole), you could walk around without fear of someone jumping from a tree at you  :P  The haunted houses were definitely not for the faint of heart, though!

That'd be awesome.  I think it would be awesome to work at one of those for a few nights...  Would be so much fun.

Just to let you know, they don't often like it when you sneak up on them and try to scare them.  Just a little FYI.
