bcart1991 - 2008-07-29 8:05 AM I like Alton Brown's shows because he is a dork like me. The ex's ring had some of my nona's diamonds in it. Thankfully, I was able to get them back.

Alton and Good Eats are the best...

I like Feasting on Ashpalt too.  I want to be his friend and motorcycle across the country and eat food.  What a great gig....

Give me Giada DeLaurentis any day.

Giada has way more teeth than most humans.

True. And way more boobage.

I was watching her one day and she was sampling some strawberries. It was slow and erotic. Then my (then) 7 year old son came and started watching. Then my wife saw us and got mad that I had my son watching a chick with a monster pushup bra eating straberries and going "mmmmmmmmm... so good just like that....". So we don't watch her anymore.

when the wife is home.

Her husband is a big dork, how did he catch her?  (Oh yeah, I know I'm the pot calling the kettle black.... I didn't miss that)

Me too - He went through STL on both trips and visited places I grew up with.

I always get sad when the series is over.  Might be the fact it's over, the clever closing comments, or the music - but I always feel a little down....

Dude! I sent in an email to the race coordinator address from the Tri I did... pointing out that it was a real problem to run out of water 90 minutes into the race. Turns out that they had a sponsor lined up to provide most of the drinks and the sponsor never even showed up. What they had was an emergency supermarket run. That sucks.

Also turns out that the coordinator recognized my name from the semipro football team I used to play for because he ran one of the other teams. It's a super small world these days.

She comes from an absolutely loaded family, though.  Her entire family on her mother's side is tied to Hollywood.

She is very small too, less than 5'2".

I have to give them props for going into their own pocket just to get what they could.  However, I would have sponsors deliver the goods a day before the next time.

This is exactly why, when triathlonsfortransplants does it's first race in 2010, we will be hiring a race director.  Ther is no way that I will be involved in this stuff.  I don't have the patience or temperament for it.

Yeah. There were people sucking down the melted cooler water when they finished, it was pretty bad. I got in just as they were rationing out the very last of the spring water in little cups.

I'm right there with you. I can't see it being that much but it's still a good chunk of change. Can't get her to do it, though. She always points out that she can't get the ring off even if she wanted to so it shouldn't matter. I guess she didn't learn from discovering that the amethyst in her engagement ring fell out and was lost. (yeah, amethyst. We was po college students. )

Amethyst sounds pretty actually.  I'm not much a diamond person.  I'm not really that into jewelry unless it's fairly unique.  If I can meet the person that actually made it, so much the better.

That would be rough and put a damper on the post race activities.  If that were the case for me, I would just have to leave ASAP and hit the first shop I could (but probably cursing the entire way).

I'm probably sure the RD was glad you wrote so he could explain.  Just think of all the people that went away P.O.ed and never found out why.  Could be a poor turnout next year as a result, and it wasn't even their fault.

There were no post race activities other than maybe 20 people standing around waiting for medals. I stayed only because half my training partners placed.

Anybody else have a hard time admitting things aren't working the way the are?  Do you find this to be more true when a certain path/methodology seems to work so well for others.
