Way to stay motivated too... Im sure at times staying motivated was not that easy! I have never made a diet in my life and then I saw a photo of myself and I thought, this is not how I feel.... I don't feel like a look. And then I started the whole process and it motivated me that I was able to do a little more every time with the workout. Then people started noticing it and that was and actually still is a huuuuuugggeee motivation booster. In August I was on a hiking trip (4 days, carrying own luggage) with friends and I was able to keep up with them.... That was a great feeling. Way to go! Is that where your avatar picture comes from? Yes. 4 days of water hiking... It was raining all the time... That's Ireland for you.... But fortunately there was always a pub close by in the evenings! ;-) Nice bonus!!! Neccessary bonus! ;-) One tour was 9 hours long and that evening I was walking like a cowboy that was sitting on the horse for 2 days.... it all just hurt.... there was definitely some beer needed to numb the pain. I won't be around tonight - I'm headed to a fancy dinner with a vendor Puts my cheap takeout to shame. I feel like I'm living like a college student these days. |

I've lost 20 since January and tried for over 8 years before it finally worked. I think getting into triathlon was the best thing I have ever done. All that crosstraining I guess... It keeps things interesting. So when did you do your first tri?? June 28. I took my first swimming lesson ever (never had them as a kid or anything) on May 9 and I still really couldn't swim when I did that sprint. I had to backstroke almost all of it, but I was hooked. I only got to do two more - an oly and a longer sprint - before I crashed my bike and ended my season But 2009 is a huge year for me. I have my first HIM in the spring and my first IM in September. So my recovery turned out to be my off season. Are you new to the sport, too? |

Will do my first 5K in November, just to get my feet a little wet with the racing experience... And probably do some more... Around here the winter is very mild, so there are races pretty much all year. As a kid/teen I was a gymnast, the competitions there are not quite that 'fast', I guess... So that will be a whole different experience. ;-) |

I found the VP debate to be mildly interesting - maybe just because I was waiting for Palin to crash and burn - but the pres debates are always a bit of a bore. Weve got it on all the office TVs here... but thankfully Im not quite close enough to hear the details... My family and a lot of my friends live in Germany and they tell me all the time that it's time for those elections to be over.... It almost seems like there is more interest in the US presidential elections than the German elections next year... But I find out in 2 weeks, if the focus starts to shift a little. |

Pro 4608 Brooklyn, NY | Subject: RE: The Mysterious Dark Arts ratkat - 2008-10-07 10:22 PM tipps anybody on how I can dry a camelbak?? I read that the best thing to do with a camelbak is to rinse it well and store the bladder in the freezer. This keeps it from forming bacteria or mold and you can just fill it up frozen and it will thaw. I've never used one so I don't know if it works, but I read it in Runners World or Outside or similar magazine. |
