I haven't kept up with anything Goulie related in the past week.  I hope everyone has been doing ok.  I only have to run 6more miles to meet my goal!  I'm so excited!  Unfortunately, running is all I've been able to do recently.  Thank goodness that is my prefered sport!  Cheers!

Oh!!!!  So what are the stats?  Who is winning?  I hope we aren't last still.

skrtrnr - 2009-10-26 5:33 AM MORNING GHOULIES.

just a quick fly by then off to the Y....

takin it easy this week.

ITS TAPER TIME.

YAHOO!

short (makeup) swim, nice slow easy.

4 mile run, which im really looking forward to.

you get to this point in your training, and can just settle into the fact that you've trained well.  i realy take this time to reflect back and i always end up having some of the 'best' runs during taper week.

feels like the 'pressure' is 'off' you know.

all the hardwork is done.  its just mentally getting yourself ready to race.

just go and let your body take over.

yay!

i was thinking about 'dedicating' each mile to someone/something that im grateful for...

of course the members of my family rank up there in the top 4, so im gonna dedicate a mile to my husband, and each one of my sons.

im sure to dedicate a mile to my new formed TRI CLUB.

but i wanted you all to know that im gonna dedicate at least one mile if not several to each of you my GHOULIE teammies.

this has been a GREAT challenge to do with THIS particular group.  i dunno, we seem to really 'jive' well together.

maybe it was just the 'season' i was in, what i 'needed' from a team, but i really, really have had one of the BEST times on a challenge team since participating in challenges here on BT.

second only to the time i was on a team w Julesy and Deeders and Phil for the first time. now THAT was a FUN time...i dont even know what challenge it was....then there was the infamous boys vs girls swim challenge.  GOOD TIMES!

so im not sure what mile you get, ill let you know, but i just wanted to take a moment and tell you how GRATEFUL i am for each one of you.

you have encouraged me and inspired me in ways that im sure your not even aware.

and you've certainly made this 1/2 MARY trng process MUCH more pleasant and 'doable'....

love ya GHOULIES.  i FOUND MY VILLAGE!

mwah!

That is really cool Stacie! We'll all be cheering for you for sure. It's good to know that in a few months time, I'll actually be able to enjoy a taper week as well.

I've also really enjoyed this challenge, even through it's my first so I have nothing to compare it to. I plan on doing more of these, and that's mostly thanks to all of the Ghoulies. Thanks everyone!

kcarroll - 2009-10-22 5:56 PM BTW, the reason I'm pushing the long run up is because I'm driving to Vermont on Saturday for a "leaf peeping" weekend".  Should be fun.

Heh... I just watched the "leafers" episode of Family Guy the other night. Funny stuff. I do miss the fall colors up north though. No such luck down here. I visited Vermont last fall when a friend talked me into hiking up Mt Mansfield while we were in school in Rhode Island. That was a good time. Have fun up there, and good luck on your long run tomorrow!

not sure I have seen that one...but I crack up at family guy....stewie is the best!

Great show!  I have a couple of friends that when we get together its hard to go more than a few minutes without quoting a family guy line.

and your favorite quote?

Here is a quick weekend summary:

We are in first place - that is all that matters - let us stay that way

Another great summary, Bill

Thanks Neal.  It was fairly quiet in here besides Stacie's problems and her cool 13 year old b-day conversation over DQ blizzards which she did not share

my bad.  when he turns 26, ill have to invite the GHOULIES.  ill buy the first round of BLIZZARDS.

im just thinking after what the NEXT 13 years 'hold' for him/us, im certain to need SEVERAL BLIZZARDS.  LOL

it was a memorable conversation thats for sure.

stacieb

Glad you had a great time.  I didn't want to interrupt family time - I just wanted a Heath Bar Blizzard

Good taste Bill. Considering I worked at DQ in high school I should be sick of them, but a Heath Bar Blizzard is simply irresistable.

Oh wow.  This will definitely require some thought.  It's hard to come up with a favorite.

I can tell you that my favorite episode is the one where Peter writes a news story that Luke Perry is gay and tries to seduce him in order to prove he is gay.  A lot of classic lines in that one.

Yes I just saw that   Now we just need Stacie to get in here and we will roll through this thread.

If Tom would keep the girls from competing to be on top of him we might get a lot accomplished!

I don't know Bill... if the girls want to fight over getting on top of me I say that's fine, as long as they're doing so in a way that contributes to both the running challenge AND the race for page 4.
