So I've decided that I'd like to be independently wealthy so that I don't have to work anymore.  Does anyone have a get-rich-quick scheme that is 100% fool-proof and 100% guaranteed?  No?  Darn.

Frown

HAHAHA! Don't we all! When you find it you better let team bEASTies know!

Seriously!  I want in!

By the way, Missy... I've been meaning to ask you where your avatar came from... it's so adorable!

ebshot - 2010-03-23 10:47 AM Oh, one more piece of news here.  I am so excited, our insurance company APPROVED COLE'S HEARING AIDS!!!   So, now the audiology people submit the payment forms and then after they get paid, Cole will be able to get them.  I wish we could do it now but at $2000 a piece, I can see why they want payment first!

That's GREAT news Erica!  We also just got some similar great news.  We need to make our kids' bathroom "handicap accessible" for our oldest daughter, Rachel, who has CP.  We faxed the contractor's quote to just about every agency in the tri-state area.  Well our prayers were answered and the Center for Mental Health and Retardation is going to pay the bill.  YEEEEE-HAAAA!

YEAH!

Bill I was snooping around and that is awesome news!!!!  And you to Erica

Thanks, Bill!

rnihill - 2010-03-22 10:32 PM Of course, now it's after 10 and I have the swimming hungries. Not good for goal #4. But I'm STARVING!

I am bombing in my weight loss goal.  I have gained weight this month.  But, I still have a few days to drop some pounds, right???  All is not lost yet!
Yeah, I'm nt exactly rocking my goal either... This weight is SO stubborn! Even being sick the last week hasn't done anything! I too am counting on the fact that there is still a week to go!!

It's been my observation that weight loss goals make poor challenge goals. I don't think I've ever had a teammate who was successful with this.

geee could it be from all the talk about food?

That reminds me, I never did look for GS cookies.  But I DID have a shamrock shake a couple of weeks ago.  Definitely not like how I remember them :-/

Silly doggie!  My mom's dog is like that too!  Actually, he likes to sprint coming out of the house, but then tires himself out after about 10 min!  I always have to lecture him about proper pacing Wink

And most importantly... muscle weighs more than fat, so as you being to transform your body through an extremely rigorous exercise program (like triathlons), the pounds come off in a slower (HEALTHIER) way.  Unlike the fad diets, where you're losing the body fat, but not building the muscle and, thus, not increasing your metabolism.  The weight comes off quicker at first (a LOT quicker), but it also goes right back on A LOT quicker.  Ya know... just sayin!

Right on!  Yay for building muscle and increasing metabolism!  Down with fad diets!!

(I have the exercise part down.  Now if I could just stop eating french fries, nachos, and beer all the time. . . D'oh!)

Ok, I'm bored at work today, and and we're falling behind on the post-count challenge. But I don't feel like talking to myself.  Plus, I was thinking, I just started joining the challenges in January, so I don't necessarily know everyone as well as you all know each other.  And also, I'm nosy.

So!  I'm going to start a bEASTie getting-to-know-you poll (even though it's almost the end of the month).  Feel free to answer any or all of the questions in as many posts as you want Tongue out You can all also just ignore me completely while I just answer the questions to my own poll!

(I know I could probably just look at everyone's training logs and figure out all this info that way, but how would that help our post count??)

I swam when I was younger, then got into running maybe 2 years ago.  So I figured why not buy a bike and try out a couple of races?  In fact, when I registered for my first tri, I didn't even own a bike!

Swim.  But mostly because open water kind of scares me.  To be fair, I do most of my outdoor swimming in Lake Michigan.  Can you blame me??

Still trying to lose the off-season weight gain!  I lost the holiday weight gain, but I have about 8 lbs to go to get back to last year's racing weight!

The camaraderie.  Seriously, I think triathletes are some of the nicest people I've ever met (or not met if you count online friends!)

Hmm, I tend to be a perfectionist, and training brings that out in me.  I think I've gotten better on just enjoying things and not worrying too much if my training doesn't go *exactly* as planned.

1 sprint (though I might make it a du), 1 oly, 1 HIM, and 2 marathons.  And probably a couple of 5k's so that I'm not *just* focusing on distance.

Oh, and a 200-mile relay race Tongue out

Ok, so much for not talking to myself!  That kind of felt like a self-interview Wink  But I think I've sufficiently wasted enough time at work and sufficiently post-padded our thread, so I'll consider it a success!

I always hate to admit this but it was kinda "if she can do it so can I"; I got interested after a riding friend did Iron Girl in 2006.

Nothing very specific but I'd really like to learn to run injury free and recapture something approaching enjoyment of running.

Still working back from my Achilles strain that started in June; right now I'm dealing with a strained hamstring I got from a fall at the pool.
