Yesterday I motored through my workouts on autopilot, only goal was to get it over with as I cut the Insanity short. I think Im getting what my daughter had which is the start of a three week cold. Feeling better today maybe Ill be able to push myself. My bike workout yesterday was without intervals, mojo was not in the tank.

Had to bail on my workout after full day of suffering at work, all I could think of was to get home and pass out, I hope things get better today.

Day 5 - Pure Cardio 40 minutes. After recovery yesterday and Pure Cardio today I feel way better - stiffness is gone and feeling engergetic. Even got in a 30 min power walk at lunch today (can't run at work right now but I didn't want to waste the nice weather here in MD).

Hi Insane buddies!

So, yesterday I challenged the high school wrestlers to show up at 9am in my classroom (we had the day off for Veterans Day) for a round of Insanity Max Plyo Intervals and then Cardio Abs:  about 80 minutes of solid work and sweat.  6 were brave enought to show up.  It was so awesome to be leading them through it, seeing them doubled over, out of breath and to be the one screaming at them to get moving!  I loved it!  They hated me during it, but thanked me afterwards.  I think I gave them a new respect for the kind of shape a 40 year old can be in!

I set my clock wrong and overslept this morning...hate that!  Think I'll skip the recovery workout and call this my day off!  Lots of running to do this weekend--plus sneak in a few Max workouts I think.

Peeps!  Where you at?!

4:15am:  Max Cardio Plyo Circuit.  I wasn't sure how my legs would feel after a 13 mile run yesterday, but they felt darn good!

Just a general question to the Insanity people: I'm a pretty healthy eater since I've been running for about 2 years and tri's for about 5 months now (training + sprint), did ya'll do any drastic diet change or follow the P90X meal plan, vitamins, recovery drink, etc.? I've done my calender and when I start November 29th and finish January 30th, not gonna lie I'm pretty excited, I've gone through P90X once and loved and I heard this really kicks your cardio ^_^

Still here, still in. Sat was my rest day, Sunday was the first miss. Picked up today where I left off, Cardio Power (day 1 of week 2 on the calendar). Finding that in just one week the workouts go by quickly and they start to feel 'easier' - I think it's a case of being more mentally prepared and knowing what to expect. I'm actually starting to enjoy the warm-ups and not totally hate the intervals. The stretching is awesome.

I have zero soreness since the week 1 recovery workout (last Wed). Still trying to master some of the exercises and stretches. I can't keep up with the folks on the DVD but it's kind of silly to try - just go at your own pace and focus on form and technique.

I can see how people with chronic knee issues might want to avoid this workout - if your form suffers, especially on the plyometric exercises, you can really risk putting too much force on the knee.

rdub - in answer to your question on diet, the DVD comes with a decent set of recipes using real food, not supplements. Recipes with fish, eggs, lean poultry, etc provided to help you modify your diet to support the program. I've chosen to avoid supplements, shakes, protein drinks, and all that in favor of just trying to eat balanced meals, throwing in some extra protein after a workout.

I just eat pretty healthy...I don't follow any set diet.  I just make sure to eat three decent meals (lean protein, complex carb, fruit or veggies)  and usually two healthy snacks.  You definitely need the fuel to get through day in and day out of these workouts.

What P90X is to weights, Insanity is to cardio.  You know the P90X Plyo DVD?  Child's play compared to just the warmup for the first month of Insanity.  You'll see what I mean soon enough!

Ahhh but those Insanity warm-ups are so gooood. 10 minutes of solid hard core cardio. And that's just the warm-up.

Pure Cardio today - man I hate the Level 1 exercises. My arms and shoulders turn to mush. Funny to see even the folks in the DVD getting pushed to their limits and dropping out of the workout - not something you often see in commercial DVD workouts.

Both the wife and I are feeling good in week 2. These month 1 workouts go by very quickly now and we're not dropping out much at all - only occasionally on some of the big muscle plyo exercises that get your heart rate up over 800.

I love the month one warm-ups!  Month 2 the warm ups are not as hard but you need more energy for the Max workouts.

I know what you mean about seeing the workout people drop out or take a break.  Can't help but feel a little smug when I outlast them!  Ha!

Max Cardio Conditioning today...right after a 3.75 mile run.  Felt great!  All I have left is this week and next!  It's funny, my weight has stayed pretty much the same--within two or three pound of my 'lower end' weight, but my pants are huge.  I pulled on a pair this morning and couldn't believe how baggy they are.  Whoo hooo...except for the fact that they don't look very good because they're so baggy!  Bring on the skinny jeans!!!

Congrats all around! Hate to see you wrapping up just as I get into the 2nd month. Looks like the others on this thread have dropped off. Maybe we'll hear from them soon.

rdub - you better get started - I don't want to be the only one left!

(Plyo cardio circuit today, back to recovery tomorrow)

So many quotables from Shawn T.   My favorite...at the end of Pure Cardio...That $hit is bananas, yo!

After my half marathon on Dec. 5 I will start Insanity over again to keep in shape through the rest of December before I start my HIM training on Jan. 1.    So...just as I'll be starting over, you'll be into the Max workouts...heh heh heh....

Well after flip flopping way too many times Ive decided to jump back into Insanity on Monday, Ill be doing Insanity in the AM and P90x in the PM. I didnt think I could do it but I tried it yesterday and it was awesome for me. What blew me away is that my upper body strength actually increased doing Insanity, I went back to P90x and all of my weights went up.
Im on the verge of doing the P90x workouts in the silent mode, however Im a Manhatten Clam Chowder guy myself!
Now the wolfpack is + 1 !

Welcome back!  Laughing  I REALLY think you're insane to be doing both...holy cow!!!

I slept in this morning.  Didn't get back from a late night field trip with 25 8th graders until 12:30am...that alarm was set way too early!  I'll make up my missed workout at some point this weekend!
