Morning! I missed my CrossFit workout yesterday, slept through my alarm. Guess I needed the sleep.

Today shall be core work, some Kettlebell, maybe some pushups and situps. If the rain holds off, an easy ride on the single speed.

8 mile run today. Fantastic!

Plus our pool at the Y is supposed to be back open tomorrow (after being closed 2 weeks for maintenance)...I might see if I can find the pool again - 'specially since my legs need a rest.

Easy 4.5 mile run for me today.  Weather was perfect, and I had Marcy and Scott chasing me.  Felt comfortable, even thought the HR was higher than usual.  After all.....I haven't run for 3 weeks now......

So it was a week of 2 different, first in a long times.....swimming and running this week

Long run for the week in the books.

Back to work tomorrow   It's been great being off for the last 5 days, but at least this will be a very quiet week and only 3 days before another day off then one day till the weekend.  All weeks should be like that!

Hope everyone had a great weekend.  Water challenge will be in effect again tomorrow!

Happy Monday everyone...and for those of you like me who are back to work after 5 days off wasn't it so hard to get out of bed this morning.

Today...back to the water goal. Already filled my bottle and as soon as the coffee is done it's water time.

Tonight is another round of bike intervals.

What's on the plan for today kids??

Today, I will (gasp) get back in the pool. Yikes! It's been forever since I swam...probably something like September.

I will drink enough water also. Aiming for 64 oz.

Good morning all,

Sorry I have been absent the last few days. Been crazy at home with family and friends over. I think I need a vacation from the holiday week. As expected, I didn't get much of anything done the last few days. I was not successful in dragging my friend to the gym. So finally, on Saturday decided to go with hubby dear and get some swim time. Got about 500 yards in on Saturday.

Plan for today - swim, 1/2 hour strength training and hopefully 20-25 min. run.

Great job with the water goal, Marcy.

I got 1400 done at the pool.  Not a bad effort.

I'm back at home now and will hopefully be better about posting here regularly. I took it relatively easy over Christmas week (did some running, but no biking or swimming). I was planning to get back into it today, but I think I'll start tomorrow . Today I'm finally focusing on eating healthy again and tracking my food. I decided to use sparkpeople because that's what I've used before and I'm familiar with it. I am pretty sure I ate my bodyweight in chocolate last week and then followed that with cake and other sweets, so I need to be accountable for my eating again. Tomorrow I will swim in the morning and continue eating well.

Evenin' everyone. Seems like folks are recovering at their own pace after the holidays. Erin, I too probably ate too much chocolate (not to mention pie. And beer. And whiskey. And cookies...I did eat veges but they were covered in cream sauce and cheese.) Even after a week filled with debauchery I stepped on the scale this morning and was down 1/2 lb to 213.5. Calories were 2554 yesterday. A little high still but I ate a cliff bar on my ride and needed a snack of hummus and pita after dinner.

I got in a nice lift session after a 10 min run to get the HR up. This is a vacation week as far as training goes. Nothing structured but I'm trying to get in at least 1 S/B/R/Lift each. Tomorrow it's the swim. Drills and kicking, fun stuff.

Nice job on the 1400 Oldag.

Morning everyone!  It's going to be a beautiful day here in North Texas.  In the mid-70's and sunny.  Of course, I will only enjoy the soft glow of flourscent lights and the hum of my PC

Anyway...Tuesday is swim day!

Drink your water and have a great day!

OK..change in plans.  Looked at my YTD numbers and I need 26 bike miles to get to 3000 and .75 run miles to get to 500.

What do you think I will be doing tonight?

WOW very cool achievement. Congrats to yeah.

I'm just getting back from my cold. I didn't train yesterday or the day before. I am mostly over it now, just a little chest congestion and  runny nose. I made it out for a run this morning. I hope I will feel good enough to go for a long run tomorrow.

Later all

Had a drill swim this morning using the closed fist drill. At first I wasn't sure what the "feel" for the water should feel like, and maybe still don't to some extent. But searched a little and found an article that helped me understand it a little more.

Awesome job losing despite the holidays! I think I'm going through chocolate withdrawal. I felt good yesterday, but today I have headaches and severe sweet cravings. I keep walking by the vending machine looking wishfully inside. I am really glad that I never carry cash so I can't buy anything. I stepped on the scale yesterday, it's not nearly as bad as I feared. However, my pants are still tight and I'm not where I want to be, so I will keep on tracking my food. I need to find a good calorie goal, I'm not really sure where I should be. Sparkpeople is telling me 1200-1550, but I'll already be at 1000 before dinnertime and I've eaten mostly veggies.

Our coach used to have us do this drill with a tennis ball in our hand.  Talk about even less resistance to the water at your hands.  The drill is cruel, cruel, cruel.  But it does teach you to "feel' the water with your forearms.

Met my goal for yesterday - swam a total of 500 yds, ran 2 miles,  and strength training with my trainer for 1/2 hour.

Today's plan - 1 hour swim session with trainer and then bike 20 mins.

I seriously need to work on my swim. I suck at it.

Great job Lina, that sounds like a full day! I'm glad you have someone helping you with your swim. The earlier you have someone help with your stroke, the better. Once you get the technique and the feel for the water, improvements will come rapidly .

Great job everyone!!!  Scott...I will not have you use the tennis balls for that drill, that's just cruel

I am watching the clock so I can get home and get on the trainer!  I figure 26 miles should take an hour and a half.  May leave the .75 run till tomorrow!!

Hello Everyone - I am thinking about purchasing a trainer for my bike. Anyone has any suggestions?

I don't want to get rollers. My husband had purchased those, I saw him trying to use those and there is absolutely no way I am getting anywhere near those things.

Only got 18.5 on the bike tonight.  If it were just a spin I think I could have done the whole 26, but throw in intervals of 3x5 minutes at 105% and 12 minutes at 80%, and that's all the legs had in them.

Tomorrow we get out early so 8 miles and .75 on the tready!!
