(in your wetsuit) I was running last Thursday with my IM neighbor and we got to talking about peeing during training or racing. He told me it's not uncommon for him to pee while on the bike. I told him he better pull out of line or drop back if we are riding together. If I get sprinkled we may have to fight! |

I'm going to die!!!!!!! Dang, there was just an article in the Active.com newsletter that addressed swimming in temps in the 50's but I cannot find it! I figured I would never ever swim in water that cold so why save it. YOU GO TRACY! I was out with my husband and kids this weekend and a pack of riders came flying by us. Of course since "mommy" does triathlons my kids love to see the riders, so we stopped and watched. My kids (8, 6 1/2, 5) were totally in awe of the dude peeing on the bike. I do have to admit..he really had to go, what a stream he had going. This of course is coming from a total bike newbie...never heard of peeing on the bike until about 6 months ago (and still can't bring myself to do it). Anyway, just hope my kids don't expect to see me doing that anytime soon. |

Never having tried it myself, but I think it is easier for men to pee on the bike than women. They can direct things better if you know what I mean. Personally, I don't plan to race that competetively that it requires membership into the golden sock club. (Mile high club however.......... oops wrong topic). Seriously, I don't see how women can pee on the bike and not get it all over their water bottles. How come Suzy gets the cool topics and I'm talking about peeing? I'll spare everyone and not post a How To video. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Havin'Fun - 2009-04-14 5:14 PM Hey gang, I'm new to the group and excited as it sounds this is a great group of poeple. I am starting my 2nd year at triathlons. And, I'm having a little trouble. OK, I'm not ususlly a whiner, but here goes. I have a 1/2 in 3 1/2 weeks and I am slow on the training. I'm just not getting the workouts in for various reasons. I signed up for this race since it is basically the same course as my "A" race in November. And I can't seem to get motivated. However, I know if I don't hunker down I'm going to be disappointed with myself once the race is done. Anyone have any words of wisdom? Or, you can tell me to just HTFU! Thanks Remeber this is said with love but GET OFF YOUR BUTT AND GET OUT THERE. NO EXCUSES!!!! WE DON'T ACCEPT THEM. NOw please excuse me I have to go lie down for awhile |

I'm going to die!!!!!!! Don't forget to pee! (in your wetsuit) ha ha ha, of course. That will need some work though because it is a beach start and it is surprisingly difficult to pee while swimming. But I'm sure I will figure it out. Just don't swim behind me. But swimming behind you would make the water much warmer just make sure you don't swallow any water. You can just pee on the beach. Walk into the water a little ways and everyone will think the sand is wet from that. I assume you are going to be wearing a wet suit. If not disregard the previous advice. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() OK so I'm finally back up to date with the postings. Wow. Very active group here. I'm finally back to training. 2 hours of hockey this morning and then 1 hour of kickboxing this evening. I have a question though. When I was entering my hockey on my training log I noticed a sport called hurling. I didn't realize that after drinking too much that you could go into the bathroom and workout. That's kind of two sports in one. An arm workout tossing em back then an ab workout hurling OK so back to studying now. I'll more regualr here after my exam tomorrow. And I don't it would be too smart to take a hand off the bars, to adjust to a better position. I think if you do either man or woman, it will just flow out the leg wouldn't it? I'm curious as to how people do it other that that. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Do a very quick search of the BT forums and you'll get all sorts of hits for directions to peeing on the bike. Here is the first link that came up and it is 9 pages long. http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=150441&start=1 I was about to write all kinds of directions but thought twice about it. Being a new mentor group I'll spare the details and just give you the link for those that are curious. Happy peeing reading. |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() It's always interesting getting your face in the water at the start of the race. You know everyone just peed in their wetsuit yet you still need to get your face in the water before the start. I usually try to move over to the side. I know that it is probably pee'licious over there also but it seems to make me feel better. |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Well, this group's thread has descended into anarchy pretty quickly! I tend to skip the pool when the heater is out and the water temp is in the low 70's, can't image 59 degrees - do they make a 10 cm thick wet suit - could you move in it even if they did?. Don't see myself peeing from the bike. I don't need to get anywhere that fast... Fun group so far! |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Hey, I have a suggestion. There are a lot of new people and it would be so much easier for Steve to call us by our correct names if we signed our posts with our real first names. Just for a little while! Trevor--I have not tried oregano, but wouldn't be adverse if I thought it had a real purpose. If you are up for it, try a green smoothie-- juice together Kale (or Chard or Spinach), Carrots, Celery, fresh Ginger and a little cucumber. Looks disgusting, but if you can drink that I guarantee it will have some immunity benefits and keep you super alkaline all day. Dare ya! Suzy (adhering to the request above). |

We have three kids and I can say, in our house, the third added just a little more chaos, but so much love & fun. I think the sex is what really determines the impact...we had two boys and our third was a girl.....oh, the drama! ![]() Honestly, I think each one brings its own blessing. Congrats!
