Veteran 163 Welland, Ontario | Subject: RE: Tamio's Group - CLOSED - FULL So yesterday it was the missing helmet and the flat tire. Today I went on a run with one of my friends who was with me yesterday. We were going on a trail/road run. At one point we were going by a marsh and a goose is on the path. My friend starts to freak a little so we decide to walk slowly by it. As we start walking the goose starts to charge at us. Now we both decide we can't go that way and alter our whole route for running for the day. I didn't want the headlines being runner gets attacked by a goose. |

Expert 2180 Boise, Idaho | Subject: RE: Tamio's Group - CLOSED - FULL Hey Gang, Looks like most everyone had a pretty productive weekend. I did NOTHING on Friday, unless you count pondering and contemplation-I did alot of that. Sat. had a real good swim and the makings of a good transition run (sans socks), however, I started to get a blister on my right heel and before I knew it, it was bleeding all down my foot. Met a fella in the pool from a local tri group that I've been considering joining-he invited me along for a Sunday morning trail run. Sunday started damp and threatening of rain, but I soldiered up and went out with the BoiseAeros Tri group. Trails were a bit muddy in spot, but not damaging to run on. Ended up doing about 7.5 with lots of vertical and sketchy footing. Felt good and didn't embarrass myself. Monday I spent on the couch-all dressed for a long ride, but couldn't squeeze one in between the rain showers. Then had coffee with a new 'friend', that turned into dinner. So, nothing on Monday either. I'm such a slacker. |

Veteran 243 Glendale, California | Subject: RE: Tamio's Group - CLOSED - FULL Geese are big. My heart has jumped into my throat several times when they waddle in front of me. My body is protesting a bit as I jump into my tri training. I really need to have lights out by 9pm if I'm going to get up to rock n' roll at 4:45am. I'm trying to use my lessons learned from my half marathon to motivate me this week. It's always logistically hectic until I adjust to the new normal. Edited by kofian 2009-05-06 7:26 AM |

Extreme Veteran 481 West Chester, PA | Subject: RE: Tamio's Group - CLOSED - FULL I feel shame today. I was out running errands yesterday and drove through burger king for lunch. I had a whopper and fries. I haven't had fast food in MONTHS! Man, it was GOOD! I did get out for a run last night, so hopefully most of it is out on the road. It's not raining today (yet) so I'm headed out in a few for a bike ride. I just felt the need to confess and ask for forgiveness. Scout |

It's always logistically hectic until I adjust to the new normal. I hear that. I'm finally in a consistent "asleep by 10:30 pm" routine to support my 4 am'ish wake up and I still don't think I'm getting enough sleep to adequately recover from my workouts. It's difficult because my fiancee is a night owl. I'm lucky to have picked up the "sleep with the lights on" skill from college. |

That is one of the side benefits of all the hard work that you do, being able to splurge every once in a while on food! I typically subscribe to eating healthy and controlled during the week and then enjoy the weekends when there are always birthday parties, kids sporting events and other kid activities that offer plenty of opportunities to have some sweets or other unhealthy stuff. I like BKs burgers but my kids don't (or Micky Ds either--go figure) but my family can sure put away some Taco Bell!! And I never order off the "fresco" menu. As long as you don't start finding yourself in the drive through 2-3 times per week, it is all good! |

Extreme Veteran 481 West Chester, PA | Subject: RE: Tamio's Group - CLOSED - FULL I bricked today. Was just finishing up a lunch time ride (15 miles in an hour, and lots of hills) and decided to add a mile run on the end. Funny too....must be something to that warming up thing. I wasn't pushing the run very hard, but my pace was only 10 seconds off my 5k PR. Didn't want to push the distance too much because I'd run late last night. Just wanted to get a last brick in before my race in a week or so... Scout |

Your hypnotic banter about fast food forced me to stuff two, not one, TWO Whopper Jrs (no cheeze-extra toms) into my gaping pie-hole, or 'whooper hole' as the case may be. So today for lunch I get an apple and a can of tuna. uummmm tunaaaaaahhh! |
