My wife loves her pink, ladies cut shirt and I think they did a nice job on these too (although, I'd rather not see 3 or 4,000 of them tomorrow). Wandered up to the S/F line and set up was in full effect. Good luck to all tomorrow!!! |

Champion 6627 Rochester Hills, Michigan | Subject: RE: Detroit Free Press/Flagstar Bank Marathon : Official Thread Hope everyone ran well and safely. Looked chilly early, but the sun made a comeback at about 830 so hopefully that warmed up the 2nd half. Just heard that three people passed during todays race...two people (younger) collapsed, one person (older) fell and hit his head. All guys. Godspeed to them and thoughts go out to their families.... |

Expert 994 Clio, MIchigan | Subject: RE: Detroit Free Press/Flagstar Bank Marathon : Official Thread Great job to everyone out there today, sorry i was running late and couldn't find a place to park to meet up with the BTers. I came in at 1:51 and change. I said some prayers as I ran by the aid station and saw them doing CPR on the guy that went down there. told the cop about 1/4 mile up to call an ambulance, he didn't even know anyone was down so it must have just happened. One of the other guys that went down just past the finish line was just after me as I was walking back to the finish line. They were doing CPR on him as well. Heard on the way home that 3 people didn't make it today. Keep their families in your thoughts and prayers |

Expert 771 Farmington, MI | Subject: RE: Detroit Free Press/Flagstar Bank Marathon : Official Thread Sorry I missed the BT gang! We had a great morning but getting there was tight.. mama's always running late these days! I finished in 2:05 something per my watch, haven't checked results. So proud of myself just for running it! What a gorgeous morning! So scary to hear about the 3 runners who didn't make it, how awful. I saw the carnage of the guy that went down at 12- it was a bloody mess but I didn't imagine that it had been fatal... wow. |

Extreme Veteran 594 Grosse Pointe Woods | Subject: RE: Detroit Free Press/Flagstar Bank Marathon : Official Thread 1:50 for me. I felt like I had no legs today. Never even close to breathing heavy at any point, just couldn't generate any speed. Oh wll, not PR, but it is my best Detroit in three races. Saw them pull the ambulance through the recovery area fast just after I finished. Never would I have imagined it was for something so serious, and more than one. Very sad. Congratulations Dan, it'll be a blast doing the "so what did you do this weekend" thing at work tomorrow! |

Expert 1091 | Subject: RE: Detroit Free Press/Flagstar Bank Marathon : Official Thread Sorry I missed everyone this morning...I know it's hard to believe, but it wasn't me who was running behind today! :-) I finally got official timing...1:54.07! Almost 2 minutes faster than the training run on Hines a few weeks back, and a couple hills (but totally worth it!) The view from the bridge was amazing! And the tunnel was WARM! :-) It was great to be cheered on by Curegirl and Kell09 out on the course! And I must thank the BESTEST sherpa EVAH! My neighbor Jogo, who got up way to early to share today with me and carry my crap till I finished! LOVE YOU JOGO!!! I saw the gentleman at mile 12 and said a prayer...I had no idea his day would end the way it did. My heart goes out to all the families that lost loved ones today...so sad. |

Wow, a full marathon is a lot harder than I was expecting. Everything was great until mile 21, everything's a blur for the end. I was happy to finish at 4:24:16. Now what should I do next... |

The three that died were doing the half. Its very sad to hear about this but as we know deaths are not common in running. Sometimes its not up to us. On a lighter note I BQ'd 3:09.09.
