Hehe I don't have any unused gym equipment 8).  Even if I never swam in it the kids would get pleanty of use out of it and I if I don't have to drive 100 miles to a  pool I am a happy camper.  Think I will go for a swim now.

One week ago it was 90 F out. This morning well 35F.  I put on some gloves but other than that did not put on other clothing... may have to dig out the winter gear already in that it snowed later on.  Anyway 12 miles for me at a 7:46 pace and hr 158.  A very awsome run in that it is the farthest I have ever gone sub 8:00, was able to keep my HR in zone 2 (top of zone 2) and did the last 3 miles at my goal marathon pace on somewhat more tired legs.

Racers let us know how things went.

Nice run, Baowolf! Congrats on the sub-8! I can only dream......

No run for me today, easy bike this morning, easy run tomorrow, then long run on Monday (I'll be happy with sub-10!)

Yeah, wasn't refering to you, I know from the last year you've really been looking forward to the swimspa and figure it'll get plenty of use.

Great run to be that fast at Z2.

That was my garage... now it is a pool room and we had to add a new garage on the far side of that room.  I am truely a spoiled triathlete now... 8).

Nice swimspa! I always wanted to have something like that but not where I currently live. Just don't have the space. So it's the YMCA for me.

sorry haven't done the intro thing yet. Name is Paul, been taking courses for work the past year & haven't been training much. Also a lot of personal changes over the past year.  Did Ironman Canada 2008 & after that things fell apart. Hoping to do 3 marathons next year & then an Ironman in 2011. My course was done October 1 so it was a perfect time to start running.  Keeping the runs small but consistent, looking for 120 km this month.

Good luck to all, it's nice to get a focus back.

No ride in yet today. 50 mph winds outside are a little extreme for me. Hoping it calms to the low 20's late today so I can get something in.

Actually getting some housework done. Feels strange to be working around the house on a weekend.

Sweet!

I see your kids can watch your workout and log it as you train too

Seems like the perfect solution to your pool logistics issue. I bet your kids will like it as well.

LOL! Wait, I think I can do that, too. Except that the dog would be in there in 0.001 seconds flat. Maybe I can pretend he's a buoy and swim around him?

Well, I SHOULD be doing some housework. Instead, I'm wasting time visiting BT.

Indeed!  You're lucky we're scattered all over the country here, otherwise on any given morning you might walk out to your pool and find a random running pumpkin getting in a nice swim workout

As for me, 3.11 down this morning at the end of my race.  I was very happy with my race and the fact that I paced it well enough that I didn't have to walk during the 5k and I finished without anything left in the tank.  Both other sprints that I've done in the past I got major calf cramps on the run portion, I think due to pushing too hard for my fitness level on the bike.  No time goal since this was my only race this season, but finished the race in 1:37:19 and just about dead MOP.  I'll be interested to see my splits once they're posted, but all in all I'm thrilled with my day.

How'd everyone else's races go this weekend?

My race didn't go so well because of crazy surf conditions.  It would sound whiny if I described why I couldn't do the swim, but if you go over to the California forum and the LA Tri thread and read the posts from today, you will see that it wasn't just me.
