Ahh, a quiet day in the neighborhood today. Well, we did do a bang up job yesterday.

Yes, Bill. We want to see your 10K oration.

Now, back to the salt mines. I am going to sneak off and get my run in early just in case the DH wants to take me out for dinner tonight. I think its best to be prepared.

This is my long weekend starting tonight!!!!
So I may be scarce this weekend. Lots of yard work still calling my name. I hope to get a real live road bike in. We'll see how the tourist traffic is before writing that in concrete.

Have wonderful rest of the days, Ghoulies.

wgraves7582 - 2010-04-15 8:29 AM Well I need an update peeps

I am back at work today and my stress level is just out of this world right now!  I feel like I could explode and would be quite good with that at 8:30 this morning!!!!!!

Thank God I do not drink because I would be sick as a dog tomorrow - LOL

Any other words of wisdom besides finding someone and beating the crap out of them for medicinal purposes - should have used the heavy bag this morning - LOL

I have a thought on how to relieve stress, but you are too far away right now for that.

I'll keep thinkin.

Tandem bicycle?

Great one Neal

Bill, did I miss an epic 10K post somewhere?

Neal,

Someone informed me - just been that type of week so it got overlooked!

We want some sort of grandiose speech. You know... thanking us all for the support, giving you a place to add to your post count, that night under the stars when we were alone and... anyway.

Carry on.

Sorry Ann(e) - once it is past just no desire to celebrate

We have 15K or 20K to look forward to now!

That hurts Bill. Down deep.

You would ALWAYS have a desire to celebrate a night under the stars alone with me. I'm just sayin'.

Ok ghoulies I finally made it through the last thread!.....

I can see which choice you all choose...1. hurrying up and getting to the new thread or 2. being kind to KimK because she has a busy day! Ummm wondering where the summary went Neal!!

Stacie...so true on the want/need a man thing. When hubby was serving in Iraq I learned very quickly that I did not NEED him. 15 months is a long time to raise 4 children,(1st grader, kindergarten, 3yrs and 9mo old at the time) run a house under construction (me doing the work) and keeping us all sane! But fortunately for him I learned that I really WANTED him!

Bill keeping your father and family in my prayers

Ann so happy they found the old man..so cool of your son to be observant!

Robin glad all worked out with your boss!

ok now to catch up on the last 8 pgs!

ironannekidd - 2010-04-14 12:16 PM I would just like to point out that I do not like it when they play What It's Like by Everlast on the radio.

I like the song. I have it on my iPod.

But they have to bleep out so much of the song that it just ruins it.

I wish they would bleep out stuff here! The stuff my girls listen too is awful!

ironannekidd - 2010-04-15 5:57 AM Here is a tip for everyone

DO NOT try to shift gears when you are out of the saddle and climbing a hill. There is potential for things to go bad.

oh Ann please tell me you are ok!

I cannot even imagine being dexterous enough to do anything but hang on while being out of the saddle going up hill.

Stupid thing is I did it twice. I did not fall, but came dam close. I was all over the place, too. If a car would have been coming I'd have gone SPLAT!

Lesson learned... probably.

good to hear you are ok!

Ok I am off! I need to get ready for my cycle/run brick with my tri-club...although I have the worst headache and stiff neck. I have had it all day. I tried cycle class this AM and only lasted 20 min. Then tried a run later and only made it 3 miles.....it was ugly! I have been in a slump this whole week. I hope it goes away I have a tri on the 25th! Although one good thing today is I stopped at the thrift mart and scored a brand new pair of bike shorts for $2.39! Also found a double sided TYR swim suit for my 9 yr old for $5!
Have a great night all!

So...

Went to bike store to get bike computer and aero water bottle...got both...

Go to put the computer together and get pretty far...then realise I have bladed spokes and the magnet doesn't fit...damnit...now I have to go back and get a magnet that will work on bladed spokes...:/

Then I just got discouraged and didn't want to fiddle with my biek anymore tonight...sigh...so haven't tried to mount my bottle yet...

Last year I did not do a very good job at shifting and I would trash my legs.

This year, since I have several running events, I have paid more attention to it. It took some experimentation, but I have found which gears work best for me, and when.

Small changes in shifting has made a 2-3 mph difference for me.

Do tell about these small shifting changes.  I just got my forst road bike in January and I'm working on shifting at the right time.

As a Ghoulie mentee, I started lurking here this week.  I should be able to hit one iron man challenge this month now that I won't be out of the country for a week.
