I added a few of you that add me. My wife had our 6th baby on Sat morning at 12:23 am. Missed my eldest birthday by 23min (he just turned 10 on the 9th). In the midst of all of this, I lost a few more pounds and am well on my way to make the goal by the end of the month or before. I missed my Saturday run but made it up on Sunday. I am now less than 10 pounds to my 1st goal of 195lbs. I have not been to 195lb since I got married 14 years ago. Congrats on 14 years of (hopefully happy) marriage, on your new family addition, and on the weight loss. All three are something to be commended. |

Expert 934 FL | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (July 2010) Let Freedom Ring Thanks for all the congradulations!!!! We are truly blessed to have another baby. Garrison Franklin is the 3rd boy and 6th child. I need to get a new double baby stroller. The old one is broke. The kids love to ride their bikes with me while I run. It is quite a parade.

Great job on no soda. I'm trying that too. I've been pretty tired towards the middle of the day when I usually get my "fix". I still have a cup of coffee in the morning though. Good luck at dinner tonight. One night won't make/break you (hopefully ). Hope everyone else is having a great week as well! |

Advice - eat better, exercise more ... those are pretty vague but it's a start. If your question pertains to your mid-section, there is no way to spot reduce. If you lose weight overall the mid-section will start to improve. Nice t'meet cha! |

Elite 3460 Slackerville, USA | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (July 2010) Let Freedom Ring nadaswimmer - 2010-07-13 1:24 PM In...148.5 today I can totally identify with you (except for being female). I am 45 and from what others have told me and from my personal experience, I would confirm that the metabolism does tend to slow down at around 40. It gets harder to lose the weight and easier to gain. I think the most important thing, which is evident from your comments, is consistency. I'm also seeing that a good long bike ride can help shed a few pounds if you watch the refueling (eating) after the ride. |

Expert 1151 Las Vegas, NV | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (July 2010) Let Freedom Ring nadaswimmer- I feel your pain, my mid-section is my problem area too. Let me know you if find any magic solutions other than just losing more weight trimore- Love the baby name! And that's awesome that you say that every year your marriage is better. I'm in year 6 of my marriage and I have a lot of respect for people who have been married for awhile, it's def no easy thing. I also do the jogging stroller/older kids following on the bikes thing. Congrats on the weight loss. How is my week going? Well, we'll see tomorrow, but the forecast is not so good. We went to the San Diego area this weekend. Took the kids to Legoland on Sat & I did a tri down there on Sun. The tri was great, I improved my times in all areas, but I ate way too many calories being on the road and at a theme park (pizza, ice cream, etc). Before the trip I was on track, down about a pound, but after coming back I was up again. Also, because of the tri, I did no exercise Sat or Mon. Hoping for a good number tomorrow. I'll be happy if I stay the same again. Edited by jpbis26 2010-07-13 4:43 PM |

I could list many, but I don;t know what your REALLY do or REALLY eat so it would be all hypothetical. Cut carbs and increase protein Do interval training Cut sugars Stay away from fast food or crinkly packages Stay away from beverages that fizz |

Champion 5807 Henderson NV | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (July 2010) Let Freedom Ring Some of you have probably figured this out already but just to put some things into perspective: 1 slice of pepperoni pizza : 250 Cals = 2.5 mile run 5 mile bike ride 30 mins swimming So everytime you sneak just a little something or a can of soda you may have negated all your training that day. So if your diet wasn't spot on in the first place you are now gaining weight. One thing I have said before and is worth repeating is that you can not out train a bad diet. |

Expert 1151 Las Vegas, NV | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (July 2010) Let Freedom Ring Congrats to everyone who lost! As for me, I'm up a little bit, but it was expected. Looking to be more diligent this week about eating better. Starting weight: 169.5 July 7: 169.5 July 14: 170 I'll be out of town with the kids visiting my parents from July 17-Aug 2. I know this will present some challenges, but I'm trying to be proactive about it. Plan to go grocery shopping shortly after I get there and try not to eat out too much. I'm signed up to do a 5K there to help keep me on track. |

Subject: RE: Team Skinny (July 2010) Let Freedom Ring Down a little. I raced again last weekend and got 18/75 in a cat 4/5 criterium and 5th place of the Cat 5 group. I'm racing again this weekend so I probably won't have much of loss this week either as weight loss isn't a big priority compared to having a rested body. June 30 156 July 07 154.8 July 14 154.4 July 21 July 28 July 31st goal 148 |
