LockOut - 2010-10-01 3:14 PM Alright boys and girls, I am going to finish off a little bit of work, and then head home.  Have a good weekend, everyone!  I hope to hear some crazy stories on Monday (mostly from you, Kate   )

You, too.
(yeah, I know I left, but I keep getting sucked back in.  And DO NOT FIX THAT STATEMENT FOR ME - especially Cord, Yanti, etc. etc.)

LockOut - 2010-10-01 12:34 PM I stand corrected...  My bad, Crowny.

Cord, what is a spaghetti taco?

just what is sounds like. It's spaghetti inside a hard shell taco. Tonight will be our first attempt but if they like it I'm sure we will refine our recipe

That sounds interesting.  I have though of putting some pretty weird foods together, but that NEVER crossed my mind.  You'll have to let us know how it goes...

it's from a kids show they watch, iCarly on Nickelodeon. I asked them what kind of new food they wanted to try and they picked spaghetti tacos. My kids are way too picky and I am working on them getting out side of their comfort zone with food.

.

That's awesome, man!  Congrats on getting them to expand their horizons.  I don't think I would have done something like that when I was a kid.

Granted, my parents didn't try to do things like this.  They did the typical "force feeding the broccoli" thing, which always goes over so well.

Hey I love Broccoli.  You be nice to the broccoli.

I like it, too...  NOW.  I didn't when I was a 6 year old and didn't want to eat it, but my parents made me...

Me too, and my kids use to eat broccoli with cheese on top when they were younger. The problem is when I started nice school  a few years ago and my ex started her business the kids got use only eating fast, quick, easy to make food. Now that is all they eat and my ex isn’t trying to change that. So they get things for their school lunch like toast with parmesan cheese, a snack, and a drink… seriously.  So now since it’s a two home life where with mom they eat they way they want which includes high sugar and chocolate snacks whenever they want. So it’s hard for me to try the eat this now because I said so tactic because they can just wait me out till they go home then I can get in trouble for not feeding them. So I am trying to get them exited about trying new things. My goal is a balanced meal including veggies but we are a LONG way from there right now.

It's pretty easy to puree some veggies and put them in spaghetti sauce.  I also mix very finely diced and sauteed veggies into meatloaf.  I think that's the only way to get my husband to eat veggies sometimes.

So now that we've been talking nasty bacteria, pewp/barf, AND food prep this page ...

I need to eat something else besides a pancake, a Pop Tart, and a couple slices roast beast (and no, not just the *other* Pop Tart). My tummy is growling but I have ZERO appetite. What to eat, what to eat ... oh I did have a glass of milk with the tart.

I'm eating some Pringles.  My FIL is my optometrist and told me I need to raise my blood pressure some!  Apparently 100/50 is too low because I can't see at night due to too low of blood flow in my eyes.

ETA: Pringles for the salt for the BP.

That is so funny! I used to have that same problem--the BP, and the seeing at night. In fact at medical places they'd often check my BP twice just to make sure it was really *that* low ...

I run a pretty normal 110 (sometimes 120 if I'm in that kind of a state) / 70 now.

TriAya - 2010-10-01 5:26 PM So now that we've been talking nasty bacteria, pewp/barf, AND food prep this page ...

It drives me crazy when they take my BP and inflate the cuff to 200!  It hurts and cuts off my circulation.
