She said package Bevis...TriAya - 2011-11-15 9:16 AM Schpanks. I wish this guy were a crush. I should have never let it get past that a couple years ago. He keeps wanting to bring his daughter over for a holiday and to meet me, but I have serious misgivings about that. Teenage girls are not stupid. Ostensibly, we're waiting for her to graduate high school so he can move over here (he lives in Australia). I really don't know what I want. He's a great guy. Perfect, really. Ooooh - that's a tough one with the daughter. Teenagers are definitely not stupid, and can be quite defensive and angry depending on how things play out if he does bring her along for a holiday and to meet you.  Just remember though, that no matter how old she is - he's still a package deal already with a family if that factors at all into what it is that you want or don't want. Heh heh ... the question is, is one package worth the other? Complicated. Ex-wife, three stepkids that he's close to (they all work for him), and the one teenage daughter, a current partner he lives with (weirder still is that I've met her and am on good terms with her, no secrets here) ... He is perfect, himself (despite the complicated family situation). But part of me is also clinging to him because he's from the same small town in Germany that my mom is from and there's so much about him that's familiar because of that, and in many ways I feel like I'm losing my mom right now ... *back of hand to forehead* I know I'm a drama queen and get myself into all kinds of trouble as a matter of habit. Unfortunately, I love this guy and for that alone, I'm always sad to see him go. |

Too busy for TAN i guess! How are you feeling? How's Dad's recovery coming along? Sacrilege! Physically, I'm reams better. Put in a full IM training week last week (stuck on a remote tropical island with a crazy ultra/tri guy, not *too* much else to do, ha ha). Emotionally, I'm all sucked up over this guy. (He left. He's been here before. He'll be back). Dad's doing awesome, thank you!!! He's going for his post-op checkups in Singapore later this week--thankfully his PA is going with him instead of me. |

Very Good! (about your Dad) You know that if you keep having to wait then it might not be for the best. There is someone out there for you, it is quite possible that you may have to get off the island to find him and bring him back! Oddly, I find that incredibly cheering. Thanks. Oh hey, wait, where did you say you live? I knew it'd be a minimum four-year wait for this guy, but also figured hey, it's not like I made any firm promises, so bully for me if I find someone else in that time. However, I'm finding that if I'm emotionally stuck on someone, I really can't move on and find someone else. I know, this kind of stuff is really obvious to most people. I'm not very emotionally or socially mature. |

I'm going to guess the list doesn't have a whole lot of fun things on it. Sorry to hear that you're still dealing with your back issues. Those are total suckage... and not in any good way at all. |

I live in Idaho! Perhaps it is the feeling of hanging on that drives your attachment. It could be good to have a clean break and then you can start healing and better yet start really looking. No kidding, huh? on the other hand, as I said before, I da ho, so I'll let him come pick me and my bike up for IM Melbourne (luggage allowances even for biz class are prohibitive) and jockstrap. Then I'll dump him. But wait, what if I meet someone really awesome at IM??? hahaha ... decisions, decisions. |

Melon Presser 52116 | Subject: RE: TAN #154: What are you TANkful for this time of year? I must say, while it's a bit painful to be looking back over the vacation pics from last week, I did get unbelievable shots of ocean wildlife--hundreds of mindblowing fish, coral, anemones, eels, lobster, even a shark (that picture sucks, but I was so entranced by the animal that I really wasn't focused on taking a pic). What an experience to be among it all. I mean, I am, often, but it never gets old, and that particular island has truly the best fish snorkeling/diving on Earth. |

Has anyone ever replaced the battery in one of these? I can get a kit for about 10 bucks online. It almost seems worth it to try, what do you think? I use it for some music but mostly audiobooks when at the gym or working around the house. |
