Teejaay - 2012-10-25 11:14 AMOff to have yet more X-rays of my tatas. The last set had a "blur" on them and they want me to redo it to be sure it is in fact just a blur. Ugh. I don't want to squish the girls again. They hurt today.
Can I kiss them all better? Please...
The x-rays? Yes.
X-rays do have a strange odor about them. Kind of like ditto fluid. You younguns have no idea how intoxicating ditto fluid is and how great it was to be in the front of the classroom to get a good whiff of fresh tests being passed back.
I used to make the dittos in high school. I had a class that was basically "office work". I loooooooved the smell. OMG. I also made the punch cards for all the students ... Yes. Punch cards were how we tracked attendance. Old.

My job in college was at the computer lab fixing punch card machines, terminal ribbons, tape reel drives and line printers.

One night, I was so bored that I took the waste bins from the punch card machines to the top floor and dumped them out the window. OMG that was cool!

So, in a race, if I am thirsty and there is a water stop, should I grab a drink?

If you can drink you are not rowing hard enough... Oh no wait wrong race.

You should stop and get a drink and make sure you grab some ice and put it down your bra to cool you off.  How is that?

SPR? If so, could this just be a setup before they're acquired? Scary.

I carry a camelback bottle l ice water with me so I can drink without stopping and don't rely on the race director.

yeah SPR. I haven't seen any rumors of an acquisition but it's possible.
We announced a $590 million forward loss this morning.

I feel bad for our CEO. He's a great guy and is getting RAKED right now on the call.

from WSJ:

Spirit AeroSystems Holdings Inc. SPR -30.56%on Thursday revealed a raft of charges on work it does for some of the world's largest commercial-aircraft makers, and investors reacted by wiping out a fifth of its market value in early trading.

I'm more worried about the lower level folks in this situation. CEOs usually walk away happy.

I don't know I get the gut feeling it is more of just a shuffle than a downing of the company.  I think the market is hypersensitive now and any bad news gets an overreaction.  I may wait till after the Nov. earnings call and buy some.  I will have to look into it.

I bought stock at the employee offering in 2006 - at $26/share. I keep telling myself it's a long term investment! Cry

Ouch.  I've been there.  In fact, I have some Restricted Stock Units that will begin maturing next year.  They have lost 35% of their value from when they were awarded.

Ooooh ouch that hurts! But yeah if you think the company has longevity then a small investment is good, just hold onto it. I bought DOW Chemical a few years ago at just under $7 after it hd lost a huge amount of stock value. It is now bouncing around $30 so a good recovery over time is not out of the question. Just remember to not buy too much stock in the company you work for, that is putting too many of your assets (your job and the money you make from it is an asset) into one basket.
