Artemis - 2008-10-28 6:45 PM I got a massage after work today. I feel great. Plus, I got a coupon to go again.

You earned it with the marathon...and the half coming up in 2 weeks!

I'm a little concerned about the half.  We'll see how it goes this weekend.  If anything Ill end up doing the 8k instead.

Thats probably sensible if you dont feel up to it!

Sounds like fun What was the original challenge?

haha Ive just started planning my christmas gift list and food plans too... so yup its going to be just like last year!!!

Although the work chrissie party (which I have to get a dress for) is title Cirque Du Mystique... so its kind of a Circus meets Moulin Rouge theme... no idea how I can cover that AND figure out cocktail glamour at the same time!

Really really frustrating as I REALLY wanted to wear the blue dress

I hate how much medications can mess with your body-I was on a nasty one last year-I gained 20 lbs and had involuntary muscle spasms when I was trying to fall asleep.  Shortly after getting off I saw a commercial for the drug-one of the warnings mentioned muscle spasms...and that they could become permanent if the went unchecked.  I had been on the med for almost a year and never was told about that-even though I described my symptoms to the doc.  He was suppose to be one of the best in the nation.  I left him and now see a nurse practitioner.

Umm yeah in one year I gained over 40 pounds nad my body doesnt seem to want to loose it...

Thats a LOT of extra weight to be carrying around let me tell you (and not something I regularly admit

Its not good for your mental health either to have that kind of problem going on, on top of all the other stuff I was dealing with. So I did all the right things re: exercise and nutrition and yet I cant loose the weight.

Its horrible! Most days I just make the most of what Ive got but some days (like when I have to dress up for a function and I will be surrounded by beautiful young things wearing gorgeous creations) it really gets to me...

That really, really sucks.  I was lucky-once I started exercising I was able to take it off.  When I start gaining weight it becomes a downward spiral-I get depressed and when I am depressed I eat lots and lots of ice cream.

I am sorry that coming off the med didn't trigger some weight loss.  But you are fighting it-just keep it up and it is bound to get better at some point.

Maybe I should send my friend down to you.  He likes to tease me(in a nice way) and he really, really liked my pudge-It seemed like he gave it more attention than he gave to the rest of me.  It provided extra motivation for me to get rid of it-I no longer get poked and he no longer talks to my tummy.

Personally-I find that taking a handful of fairly effective drugs every day(after going through a lot of trial and error) is better than being super depressed, having self harm thoughts and being suicidal.

and this is including the fact that my medications almost had me institutionalized at one point. Actually being super, super manic can lead to some fun experiences-I definitely learned a lot about myself and have been a different person-I am much better at dealing with my negative emotions(anger, frustration, loss, sadness, etc).
